This was within the warranty, but it only covered hardware damage.
NETGEAR only offers 90 days of technical support and wanted to charge me $89.99 (over double the price of the device) to get support for it.
I was approved for an amazon gift card in less than an hour from asurion. Thanks.
getting this has saved me a lot of bucks when something has failed!
One item had a part break after 4 years of ownership,but befioe the 5th year was up, and that part got replaced, the warranty costs less than half of what that one part cost me.

when I first filled out the questions I didn't realize it wanted how it stopped working so I just said it wasn't working, then tried to update the info to say how and got an error message

Your headphones are covered for performance and workmanship issues. After your warranty with the manufacturer expires on 09/29/2018, we will cover the mechanical and electrical failures due to normal wear and tear along with our original enhancements providing you coverage until 09/29/2019. Again, it depends on the type of plan that you have. Asurion 2 Year PC Peripheral Protection Plan ($0 - $49.99) does not have accidental damage coverage since PC peripheral devices are meant to be used indoors.
