I am puzzled. I have seen this camera advertised under many brands. This is an SQ8 mini dv camera. This camera, with a 32 GB MicroSd card, only runs for 30 minutes without being plugged into a power source. Connection to TV does not work. Picture quality is "good", not great. I didn't try the night vision as yet.

Is it a faulty camera because it runs for < 30 minutes only without being plugged into a power source?

I could never get night vision or motion detection to work correctly, the instructions were atrocious, I find it very sensitive to the cold, but it does take a good picture & is fun to play with. If you go to YouTube and input the model number you can find lots of instructions that are very understandable

This camera is receiving a lot of not so great reviews...well if comparing the quality of the picture from this camera to an expensive camera it will rate extremely poorly....but it does have a particular niche use that gives it great value. This thing is incredibly small and inexpensive..it is essentially disposable and if it were to go missing..oh well... With all of the poor drivers out there, I decided it was time to get a dash camera for my vintage jeep that has no top or doors on it. I could have used an expensive, higher quality dash camera but I would have to remove it every time i parked in a parking lot to keep it safe. With this SQ8 I can just leave it. It is so small that it is barely noticeable attached with black Velcro to the back of my rear view mirror. The setup was easy. I had to get an 8ft USB extension cable and ran it to and adapter in my cigarette lighter. There was no software setup required due to the built in feature of this camera that automatically starts to record video when it receives power via the USB connector. It starts to record when my key is turned on...I would guess that the video quality is somewhere around 480p. It is just good enough to capture events, stop signs and the color of traffic lights etc....as for the other functions of the camera..photos, motion detection..I'm not sure as I'm not using those functions.

I think I should keep in mind that you get what you pay for! Anyway, the unit looked solid but the instructions were absolutely useless. Confusing and badly translated broken English. Tried several attempts to get it to do something, but all I got was 1 megapixel quality blurry crap. Plus I missed the return window by one day so now I am stuck with this p. O. S.
