The artfone is ideal for seniors, and those of us who have clumsy thumbs. When I made my very first call, I was hugely impressed that the artfone SPOKE the numbers of the tel. no. I dialed! Plus it connects almost instantly to my Chatr account & it has large push-in buttons which are easy for someone like myself with clumsy fingers. I just cannot type on any cellphone with touch-pad keys. My fingers are too clumsy. One drawback: it does not have adequate Internet, but since I use a cell phone only to make calls, it is no big deal.

I wouldn’t recommend buying this phone if you live in Canada. The time zones are all from the United States/UK and even if you find one close to your actual time it resets everytime the phone is powered off and the date goes back a few years. It’s frustrating to have to keep adjusting it. Also the SIM card is very hard to get in and out.

I'm a youngish, reasonably tech-savvy senior who's had flip-phones for decades because that's all I want. A PHONE! This is my third one, the others lasted forever and the last one died only because I accidentally put it through the washing machine. So I bought this in August 2023 because I liked the price and I really liked the large buttons, simple operation, and voice that speaks the numbers as you dial. In February 2023, after only 6 months, it whimpered and died in the charging station. I got the Black Screen of Death. Bought a new battery but did no good. I eventually took it to a cell phone repair place which somehow miraculously revived it but said the motherboard might be fried, and indeed a couple of weeks later it did the same thing. I'll take it back to the repair place but if this is going to happen on a regular basis, I need to buy a more reliable phone. With a warranty.

UPDATE: I took it to the repair place. The phone is fine. It was my error, something I did or didn't do.
Changed my rating to 4 stars.

Overall, look for a phone with better build quality and better instructions.

I bought this phone for my mother. It has a number of annoying factory preset features that are not suitable as a senior's phone. It took awhile to finally get the settings right because there are no instructions.

The charging station is cheaply made and breaks easily. Mine broke upon first use. I asked if I can buy a replacement and the manufacturer replied that the "C1 plus charger is on sale." Thanks for nothing..

The phone does send and receive well enough and the battery life is OK.
