This TV does work, however if I could go back I’d probably get a different one. I don’t hate it, but I definitely have a few gripes.Cons:- If it gets unplugged it basically has to completely reboot which takes a long time.- the volume SUCKS. I usually have it at 70-90%, and it’s only 2 feet from the foot of my bed. Some apps are louder than others though so it’s a complete roll of the dice if it’s going to be loud asf or if you’ll barely be able to hear it.- It can be super laggy sometimes, opening new apps or streaming services causes a temporary lag/delay. For example if you open Netflix and try to adjust the volume at the same time the tv will lag for 10-15 seconds.- It also lags on wifi a lot causing super low resolution and pixelated streaming which my other smart tv’s don’t do.- You can technically cast to this tv, but you have to have the app already downloaded, it’s not like a chrome cast or Samsung tv cast it’s more of a remote.- There’s no off button, so you’ll need the remote to turn the tv on/off.- for some reason, even though it’s an AMAZON fire tv, you can’t rent movies through the prime video app, you have to do it on your phone then open it on the tv.- the Alexa to search won’t show all the streaming options. For example if you search “the office” it’ll only suggest Netflix, even though it’s also on crave and prime.- most of the buttons (like for expanding selection) only work in prime video. There’s a 3 line button to expand in prime video to remove or add to list but it doesn’t work in any other streaming app.- Finally there’s no RCA on this tv, so if you want to play N64 or something you need an HDMI adapter for that.PROS- It does work smoothly for the most part once it’s up and running- the Alexa to search is useful 80% of the time.- never had any connectivity issues or had to reconnect to wifi even after the tv got unplugged.- I personally like the feel of the remote.- easy to switch between hdmi and the settings are easy to use- lower cost than a lot of other smart TVs- light so it’s easy to mount- picture quality is goodOverall it’s a decent TV with mildly annoying issues, but nothing that has me wanting to return it. I do think that there are way better smart TVs out there though, so save your money. If you really want the fire tv experience (which is mid) I’d say splurge a bit more on a better brand and get a fire stick. If you don’t watch tv much and are using it as a bedroom option then this tv is fine for that!

We bought this to replace an older SONY 43" TV that was aging. This fit in lieu, and worked right out of the box! Easy to set up and smart features work very well! We were up and running in minutes! Great picture quality, and TV is a dream to use - remote is intuitive and easy to run, even for seniors (not QUITE there yet! lol).

Thanks - I think this is a very superb value for a TV, and highly recommend it!

I bought this tv because my Insignia 50-inch Fire tv died after exactly 3 years while it was in use. That particular brand seems to die within 2-3 years due to motherboard issue that causes the screen to go black and never turn on again. The company has just not improved it even knowing the ongoing issue for several years. Motherboards cost a min of $300 and that does not include any other fees for installing it, I know this because I spoke with 4 different repair technicians including an Insignia tech. Feel free to see the reviews on that brand yourself!

What I love about my Amazon 50-inch Fire TV: ***This is my bedroom tv and sits on an over the bed rolling table at the foot of my bed***
*The price is amazing! I paid $450 Canadian versus the $200 more for the Insignia
**Visually stunning, everything looks almost too real!
***Very easy to set up, I did it myself in 10 minutes from box to the table it now lives on.
****I love firetv, and have easy access all my favourite tv apps and the silk internet browser.
***** The remote is a little small and of course all black but I found that Amazon has silicon covers and the glow one is about to be my new favourite. No more losing the remote on dark bedding! LOL

The cons:
*I find the sound is not as loud when in front of the tv and I often have it up very high to hear what I am watching. Strangely if I leave my room to walk to the kitchen I can hear my tv so it seems to emit sound out of the back of it better then in front of the screen. I could not get my Sony speaker to connect via bluetooth so I will be looking into the recommended Echo speaker that is for this tv.
**I wish I could adjust the brightness of the tv, as I find it a bit too bright especially at night when my eyes are tired but there are no options to do so for picture or sound.

I have only had this tv since early June 2023 so I will update again in a year to discuss the pro's and con's and it's longevity.
**Update July 10, 2023 If you press and hold the home button for 5 seconds a wide variety of settings pop up to the right of the screen. I was able to adjust the picture and audio ( sound ) so I no longer need an additional speaker or sound bar!

I came across this TV when looking for one I could use in my room. I bought the 43" model, and all around, I'm satisfied with it! The build quality of the TV is solid. Can't say it's made 'cheap' or badly.

The remote is pretty good, the Alexa button is cool, it basically acts like Siri and you can ask it to play something. Comes in super handy. You can also ask it general things like the weather, time, etc, which is nice! However, I think a lot of the button placement could be better, but I have no complaints!

The TV supports up to 4 HDMI ports, with one of the 4 being HDMI eARC, also comes with an Ethernet Port, Coaxial, 5V 500mA USB 2.0, IR Emitter, Headphone jack, and an Optical Audio Port!

One of the things I noticed however is that when playing Xbox there was input lag from my controller. Despite not being too bad, it was definitely noticeable while playing FPS games. This can be corrected by setting that HDMI to game mode, and that should solve any lag!

Now I have a few problems with the TV...

First of all, when watching an anime or cartoon, there are some weird picture artifacts, almost like artificial motion blur or such... I am sure there is a way to turn it off or change a setting but I could not find it unlike the game lag. I think I got it toned down enough to where it was not as bad. I am sure there must be a setting but I could not find it...

The smart aspect. It is... not the best? While everything works, the smart part of the TV really is subpar in terms of performance. I have had old PC's and phones run faster than this. General lag while looking for something, and taking forever to load things is annoying. I understand that the TV is only 470, what am I even saying? That is a SOLID amount of money to be spent on anything. So there should be no excuses.

The user interface really isn't that good. A lot of annoying aspects of it while browsing or looking for something, getting ads for movies or shows, annoying to navigate, and general slowness of the smart functions is just inexcusable. Now don't get me wrong, I know I make it sound super awful, but it is not the end of the world. It still works, it just could be WAY better. So if the smart part needs to be 1000 percent perfect for you, the TV might not be the best option!

You can download a bunch of different apps, including stuff like YouTube, Crunchyroll, Netflix, Prime Video, etc. You also have a browser you can use to search up stuff but... its really bad lol.

But should you get it? Yeah why not. It's a solid option, everything works and I have had zero issues other than the game and weird motion blur problems.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the Smart TV aspect. It is lacking and could be better in many ways. However, aside from that, this TV would be my first recommendation to anyone looking for a new and budget friendly television!

I am absolutely impressed by the excellent quality of this 50” fire tv. The image is excellent quality, very easy to set up and is very light. I am very happy how easy it was to set up my console video game and Bluetooth to my speakers.

Bought this for at the trailer and it is amazing! lol it took me a little while to program it but there are so many fee apps so we can watch different shows that I don’t have to pay a big bill each month.
I am a 75 year old woman that is not computer literate but I managed this lol.
I am not app crazy but it seems to be working out.
Great colour and good sound. Put this one in our bedroom , now getting one for living room.
