Upgraded some things for my turtle recently, this combo light is one of them. It looks nice, tidy to have combined lighting in one unit. I was not super impressed that it has two plugs as I didn't have enough outlets available. Turtle is loving it. I put her old 75 watt basking bulb in so it's not any stronger than before but she's spending more time under it so I don't know if she's just drawn to the UV bulb or what. Whatever the reason she likes it better than what I had before. It's not cheap but since it comes with both bulbs it's not outlandishly priced. The 50 watt basking bulb it comes with seems kind of underpowered and I'm setting that aside as an emergency spare. The lights are on/off switches. My previous light fixture of a dimmable wheel style. Doesn't matter to me as I always cranked it to max anyway but if it's important for you set up to be able to dim the basking light this is not the fixture you want.

I needed a combo light over my turtle’s platform area and this kit worked out great! Came with the lamp, as well as the starter bulbs. The hanging hook/handle was a bit too long for my setup, I had to shorten and re-bend the metal hook/handle to fit, so I kind of wish the combo light had an adjustable hook/handle height, or some kind of clamp option as well to be more versatile, but if your setup area doesn’t have any height restrictions then it’s probably fine as is. I ended up buying a hanging stand as well so that it didn’t rest directly on top of my partially plastic platform cover (if it was all metal mesh, it would have been fine). Anyway, the kit is a good value considering I saved a bit of money rather than buying the items separately. Only minor issue with the shipping was that the electrical prongs scratched up the outside of my lamp and I coloured it in with a sharpie. Wish they could have packaged it better for shipping, but at least nothing was broken/damaged beyond some scratches.

I just got an eastern painted turtle recently and was not sure what light to buy for it. Upon doing a bit of research and comparing other amazon items, this kit stuck out as a good solution as it provides adequate heat and uv which is needed. I originally had a small regular light on my turtle's basking spot and he did not seem to really enjoy it at all. Upon using this lighting kit, I noticed even on the first day my turtle seemed to be greatly enjoying it and relaxing underneath it. I've had it for a week now and can definitely say it provides exactly what was needed for my painted turtle. He often spends extended periods of time basking, which according to research is what he should be doing.

I've just received this and set it up so I can't attest to the longevity, but so far I love it. I got it for my crested gecko terrarium because it was a good deal with the ideal heat & UVB. Just keep in mind that with most screen top terrariums you'll want to get a stand to hang this on so it isn't sitting directly on the screen/ mess and risking burning the inhabitants.

This was a great buy, got it 2.5y ago. Didn't realize I had it near that long. The first bulb *just* burned out (heat lamp). Never had a turtle tank fixture last even half of that.

I'm forgetful on timing so mine’s plugged into a 24hr switch like I use on my grow lights. Works great.

Edit 2m later: the uva/uvb side is hanging down. Going to have my partner eval a fix but I believe it’ll be safe to re-secure it in place. If it’s not, I’ll buy this to replace my original. It lasted several times longer than any other light housing my aquatic turtle has had.
