DOG CATNIP! + x2 Updates
I originally received a free tiny sample pack of two of these, and two of the peanut butter version in the mail direct from the Company. I wish Amazon would send out pet related samples as it's extremely helpful. That said, I was super happy to receive these to try. We have extremely picky doggo's that also have multiple medical issues. So finding food is difficult nevermind treats lol! Plus I am extremely cautious re what I allow our dogs to have. Both dogs are literally crazy about these. After I finish writing this review, I need to go add more bags of these to my monthly subscribe and save. I already buy 4 bags monthly.. These are 46Cals per stick which is high. Something to definitely keep in mind for weight management. Regarding the ingredients, NO SALT HOORAY!!!(TIP: The % of FDA salt allowance is kept very low (1%), for pet foods/treats. Always check where salt lands in the ingredient list. Any ingredient(s) after salt have little to no benefit. So if all of the vitamins or even veggies and fruits in a dog kibble are after salt, they aren't beneficial in any way for your dog or cat at all for example. They may as well not be there).. As these are soft, they don't last long. Then again maybe our dogs are more like pigs.😅 Zero waste!! My only MAJOR concern is where these are made/manufactured.Anything that says on the packaging to "wash your hands after touching" for anything non raw diet related, or made in China, are absolute no goes for our pets. Like many, we unfortunately lost our dog to a well-known pet brand (either ScienceDiet or Purenia I cannot remember atm),that made chicken breast treats in China, and another two from Blue Buffalo dog food in 2016. Both hurt but the double blow hurt THE most, and still does! Mainly because it was a dog food that was family owned, that we could trust.💔☆☆(I'd highly encourage anyone who feeds BBUFFALO brand for dogs or cats, please read Consumer Affairs. Beloved fur family have been dying prior to 2016 and continue to. I'm not talking about the occasional cat or dog. I'm talking about in the thousands!😠 We almost lost our other two dogs as well, as we had 4 Mexican rescue dogs at the time. One was naked with mange and open wounds when I brought her home. Suddenly or so it seemed, her mange came back after getting her healed and healthy.I knew that something was definitely wrong with our dogs, and the sickest one, not even 3yrs old yet, kept trying to tell me. But never did it cross my mind that it was the dog food. I checked everything from having secondary exams done, to spending a lot on having my water tested! The only thing I didn't check, was their dog kibble. That particular dog died a very painful slow death. By the time we got him to the vet it was too late. He had been passing kidney stones that have spikes. Eventually he couldn't pass the stones as with time, the spikes became larger, so got stuck in his urethra. Our vet worked for hours pulling out all the stops in efforts to flush them out, to no avail. Surgery wasn't an option by then. Then our other dog died shortly thereafter. By then our vet confirmed it was due to the dog food. After immediately switching our remaining two dogs to Origen, thankfully their health improved as otherwise they were headed to the grave as well. Both ended up with long-term health damage but thankfully in our case it wasn't too serious. If dogs or cats don't die, they typically end up with extremely long-term, complex health conditions. Please ALWAYS do your research for ALL pet food brands, and check for recalls regularly. Also always check the label for every new bag of kibble you purchase for any changes. Many family owned, trusted brands have been recently bought out by companies that have no business manufacturing dog food. Human grade and or Small Batch is the way to go if possible).I intend to call HAGEN to find out. There's nothing worse than thinking one is giving their pet the very best only to have them die from the food, chew, treat etc..As much as I really like this product, for some reason HAGEN being the distributor bothers me. Especially as they are going under the name ZOË and presenting as a more healthy quality and choice. I go to HAGEN for everything for all of our fish keeping, sometimes bird, but never dogs before this. I will update when I find out country of manufacturer. It's very possible that I'm just being overly sensitive. For what it is worth, I am a retired 30+ years rural large animal veterinarian, vet tech, owner of a highly trusted private wildlife rescue, rehabilitation center and sanctuary. Of which includes domestic animals that people dump, tie to the gates or disguard on our property like garbage. As I no longer hold my DVM license/am retired, just like everyone else, we now have a licensed vet for our dog care/needs that can not be handled at home. Point of mentioning this, is because prior to my retirement, I was welcomed to be present for the necropsy of our two beloved dogs, that passed from BB food. I can tell you that what I seen damage wise to their bodies was shocking, as well as genuinely horrific. Back to these, value for money in our case is good. Neither dog has had any GI upset or allergies. The peanut butter version however made both very sick. I was shocked because normally the dogs aren't affected by peanut butter treats. For now I highly recommend giving these a try!I didn't think our dogs would touch anything mint flavored and yet these are quite literally the highlight of their day.(For some reason when I went to upload a photo and write a review for the bone shaped chews I bought, it brought me back to this product. So the bone treat actually belongs to ZOË Better Than Rawhide Mint Flavor 234G/10 Mini Bones. Of which I also give a 5/5 rating).UPDATE: Manufactured in Thailand 👍🏼It is now listed on the bottom left corner, along with a best before date.So I WAS being overly sensitive.. We tried the peanut butter version again and for whatever strange reason, it made both dogs extremely sick again. As in severe diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy. Definitely don't recommend the Peanut Butter version. We've also tried the BBQ Chicken version of these. Both dogs enjoy these too. But by far the Mint is their fav!(I'd venture a guess that we're on, or getting near to our 100th bag of these).UPDATE: 11/16/2023 Apparently as with everything else these days, the orginal look, and formula has changed to maintain the price for these. As these are a part of my monthly subscribe & save, these were unavailable for around two months. So I'm guessing that there was a change in factories, or the sourcing of ingredients possibly. Now there's only 1/4 the chicken wrapping. The white part of the chew texture has changed as well. I will say that the chicken looks more natural which is a good thing imho. Since the recent changes, our dogs still absolutely love and demand their mint sticks!!Though these changes have been made recently, the quality is still there just in a different way. And neither dog has shown any negative reactions. I am curious if the Peanut Butter version is better now. But being our dogs have been through hell twice already with those, I'm not willing to try a 3rd time. I would be curious what my fellow pet parents have experienced with the new version, if they were something that you used.To HAGEN: PLEASE keep the quality, and up the price by a buck or two if need be. I'd much rather pay a bit extra for something my dogs love and I feel comfortable giving them. If anything, a drop in the calories would be a nice option.I've lost count of how many bags of these we've purchased. Definitely well into the hundreds. To the rest of my fellow pet parents, it's highly likely that your dog will really enjoy these! And I definitely recommend these ones over similar products such as Zeus rawhide free chews. While no longer the same as they used to be, these ones are still way better quality, and at a decent price. MORE importantly, I feel comfortable with recommending these. I will try to remember to upload a photo of what these look like now, although it doesn't really matter as they are still a winner! ☆For the most part we've now switched our dogs to a more natural diet. For treats and chews, they now receive Supercan Pork Liver, Beef Esophagus sticks, and Pork Pizzels. (All available and purchased here on Amazon. I've written reviews for them. I think if you tap on my name it should show these products). We still give them Greenies and these of course, although we've cut back to purchasing two bags monthly. The difference in both of our dogs especially for the pork liver strips and beef esophagus, is nothing short of being AMAZING!! Our 14yr old senior acts like she's 2, constantly buzzing around the house which she never used to do. As for these, it's their doggie version of ice cream or the like. Both dogs quite literally cry for their "Mintys" as we call these. I know that this is a long, awfully written read. I always appreciate the time others take to write reviews, especially my fellow pet parents. So a massive thanks to those that do.💙If something is fantastic, I cannot wait to recommend it. Should something pet related be bad, I'll scream from the rooftops if need be. Losing a member of the family or best friend, is terrible.Knowledge is power as the saying goes, so keeping our pets safe and healthy is of utmost importance to all of us. Hopefully this helps you and your doggo's. 🐾 :)

I've lost count of how many bags of these we've purchased.

So a massive thanks to those that do.💙
If something is fantastic, I cannot wait to recommend it. Should something pet related be bad, I'll scream from the rooftops if need be. Losing a member of the family or best friend, is terrible.
Knowledge is power as the saying goes, so keeping our pets safe and healthy is of utmost importance to all of us.

Hopefully this helps you and your doggo's. 🐾 :)

I have been ordering these stix for some time now (all three flavours: bbq chicken, peanut butter and mint). My pooch loves them. He is a picky little guy so it is great to have something that he loves this much. On my last order one of the bags contained VERY DRY stix - which also means they are not edible as they are super duper tough. Scissors won't even cut them into pieces. This also means that I have wasted my money on this one particular bag. What really irks me is that there is no way to communicate with the seller regarding this issue to get a replacement.
