Absolutely terrific laptop. A fair bit of trouble shooting early on with a battery issue.

Absolutely terrific laptop. A fair bit of trouble shooting early on with a battery issue.
Disclosure: I'm receiving a warranty extension from ASUS for providing my feedbackFirst off, I'd buy this again and again and again. The Bad - No webcam, yea, that's kind of silly. Been running into a battery issue, can reach 8hr batter life but haven't gotten to 10+ like other users. I'm working actively with ASUS to try and resolve this issue. ASUS are very responsive. Speakers could definitely be more powerful, I'm slightly disappointed there. No home/end/page up/page down keys, for me these are really important for actual work. Lastly, the finger print reader is finicky, I had to set up 3 versions of the same finger to get it working well.Otherwise, this thing is a beast, customizable in terms of use and performance (CPU/GPU/fan/etc.), has everything you could want in a powerful laptop and the design is great! A nice surprise, you can charge with the charger included, or a USB C. Keyboard and trackpad are fantastic in terms of feel. Screen colours are noticeably better than the Lenovo I was using prior to this (see pic). I may be an ASUS consumer for life going forward.

The good heavily outweigh the bad when it comes to this laptop. I was hesitant at first since I have never had a 14" laptop before but I soon realized that it would not bother me at all. This small compact machine gives you the best of both worlds. It is relatively thin, light and easy to travel with. I use this thing as my daily driver where I am constantly going over webpages, answering emails and playing games when I find the time. I would highly recommend googling how to optimize battery performance before using this laptop as you can get a huge boost from 4-5 hours to 8-10. This is something I am hoping Asus fixes themselves eventually but at least there is a fix for it now. The Ryzen 9 processor has more than enough to handle all of your daily processes so that you only need to use the 2060 when you absolutely need it.

Good:
- Great battery life (after changing multiple settings)
- Solid build, feels very nice to hold, doesn't feel cheap at all
- Best trackpad ive used on a laptop, comparable to mac track pads.
- Charger cable isn't too bulky
- Keyboard feels great, very responsive
- I am able to do everything I want with this laptop

Bad:
- No built in webcam. Normally this wouldn't bother me in the slightest but given this is Covid times where I conduct multiple meetings over Zoom, I would prefer to have one built in rather than having to carry around an additional piece. Long term, this won't be an issue for me as I did not use my webcam often before Covid.
- The 120hz screen while it looks good, overall does not feel like a 120hz screen when playing in fast pace games. I did notice some ghosting, while it was tolerable and was able to still enjoy the game, this screen does not perform as well as you would expect. Since I mainly don't play fast paced games that often, this isn't too much of an issue for me.

Amazing gaming performance that comes in a small package. The G14 is a solid build with a good quality feel to it. I find the laptop screen to be excellent and found that connecting it to my 27” MSI Monitor makes it incredible.

Only two minor drawbacks, one there is no camera, which is not an issue for me., i have a good quality external one. Two, the fan can get quite loud because the processors can generate a lot of heat, a necessary evil, but I have had no issues so far in playing intense graphic games such as the new microsoft flight sim.

In summary, read the independent reviews online and you will see why this amazing machine is so highly rated and a class leader!

Good:

- Metal chassis, feels durable and the slim design makes it easy to pack on the go.
- Can run most games on ultra settings like butter.
- Keyboard has a good feel; great for word processing.
- Charging cable is ergonomic and not too bulky.
- Comes with a year of accidental damage (within reason) warranty.
- Finger print scanner.
- Frequently goes on sale.

Bad:

-Poor battery life out of the box. Note: There are many helpful guides online to fix this issue.
-No camera, but this allows for a slimmer design.
-Jet engine fan and pretty hot run times on some games. I'm not worried about it blowing up with my games, if you play more demanding titles be sure to look up AMD's recommendations on the heat cap. There are many good solutions online for this issue.

I purchased this laptop just over a year ago and it's amazing build quality is awesome and strong battery life. I contacted asus in November to report a error in my asus app. They reported a battery error and a fan error. They told me it was a glitch in the app and not to worry restart your laptop and it would correct itself.
I reached out in February and provided them a battery health report which showed in November a massive drop in battery performance.
Again they wouldn't provide an RMA. It took until my laptop was now out of a year warranty and now no longer boots for them to provide a RMA.

If asus at all acted on the defect in their product I wouldnt have a 2 grand paperweight.

Edit: asus has told me that they had no evidence the battery did anything however the mother board need to be replaced for the small fee of 1400 cdn. I have received no explanation just the motherboard has failed in less then 15 months what???? Asus RMA process is terrible.

Seriously impressive performance for the size. The Anime matrix, while a bit gimmicky, is actually really cool. I don’t really game much on it, prefer a desktop for that but the power is there if this is your only computer.
For the cpu intensive programs I run for school the ryzen 9 is a beast. Build quality is also amazing. The only negative I have is the screen. The brightness isn’t great and the response time is pretty bad.

For me this portable laptop is the perfect companion to my desktop computer.
