Since I can't seem to find wasabi powder or paste locally anymore, I thought I'd give this a try. I'm pleasantly surprised. It has a nice kick to it. Very nice for this kind of product. True it's not *real* wasabi, but I knew that. The real stuff is rare and very expensive. My jar was sealed, thankfully. I see some people found theirs was not properly sealed. I can see how that would have happened. Hopefully they'll adjust their packaging process in the future.

I like that its powdered, and you just add water to rehydrate..
for those of you that don't spend a lot of time in kitchens.... all you have to do is just keep adding a few drops of water at a time in between mixing, until you get the consistency you like, duh.. too much water = soup. And the results are instantaneous.

I eat allot of sushi and have most of my adult life, so I know good wasabi. During the pandemic, had to set myself up at home to do so. Wasabi from a tube, well it works, but it's a compromise. So I tried this. It is excellent. When mixed with just the right volume of water, the texture is very smooth. The taste is fantastic.it does not over power with being too 'hot' but certainly kicks if ya get liberal with it. I would say it is full flavored otherwise. Frankly, not sure you can better this product, certainly not for do-it-at-home wasabi. The 50g jar is nice, but 100g would be even better! As long as they keep the price reasonable, will get more. Highly recommended.

All of the negative reviews seem to be from individuals who don't read before they purchase. This is NOT real wasabi. Real wasabi is something 90% of us have likely never had. That said, this stuff is great and exactly like they use in restaurants. If you're like me, you hate the weird, wet paste material that comes out of the tube. This is not real wasabi it's horseradish powder but it tastes just like what I get at every place that sells sushi here in the US. (Real wasabi is actually expensive and tricky to grow for those that are wondering why the switch.) It tastes pretty good and has a nice mild kick to it. There are no instructions on how to mix it together. I did a 1:1 ratio and it was a touch too wet for me but I will adjust that and work it into a nice bit of paste that works for my personal preference. I would absolutely buy this again for making sushi at home or any other meal that it would complement.

This was my first experience with using horseradish powder and I must say, it is VERY STRONG. I used one teaspoon in a ham dip I prepared and it made the whole dip taste like horseraddish. The recipe called for one teaspoon, but I would recommend cutting that in half. There is nothing wrong with this ingredient except that it is too strong.
