As arrived, the box is pretty basic. It's descriptive but simple and would do ok as a gift.Out of the box, I wasn't completely blown away initially. The plastic packaging and cables were fine, but could be a bit better to achieve a more premium feel.Included are the headphones, 2 cables- a usb to usb c and a usb c to 3.5mm jack, a airplane dual 3.5mm adapter which is sweet and a leather-like carry bag with pullstring top.Pairing was extremely simple- hold down the power button and the blue indicator light starts- y7 on the phone and it was that simple.On the headphone is the anc button, power button which also works as a pause/play, up down volume buttons and usb c charger with no cover. They do not appear to have any water protection.There is a nfc (wireless pay) option available through the one headphone, which is a neat feature- although I wasn't able to test.There is no app for customization for these headphonesBattery life is amazing! It took just under 2 hours to charge and I let them play for 8 hours with anc on and I'm still displaying 80% battery. Crazy.For music:Sound quality was an 7.5-8/10. You may have to fiddle on your phone to find the perfect fit but overall it's pretty crisp. The bass isn't heavy but treble sounds carry strongly through. For me, I found that songs with instrumental parts (piano, sax, etc) and guitar carried a nice, smooth tone but heavier style music like rock maybe was a bit underwhelming- just personal preference though. My wife thought similar with certain tones and even thought some vocals in alternative/indie style music was very clear and nice.For talk/podcasts:Here the headphones have a great sound, 9/10. Voices are clear and pronounced, with very little modification required.For movies:Depending on style can greatly affect this rating. Overall, I give it a 8/10. Using action as an example, the issue with voice being hard to hear vs the huge bang of an explosion is not an issue- the tones carry well and everything overall is balanced. However, if you like the rumble of some bass in your action scenes, it can be a bit underwhelming. I did try some different tone options through my tv but couldn't find the right one to fit my personal preference. If you aren't like me and like a consistent volume or feel, you'll be happy.For phone calls/work conferencesSimilar to podcasts, voices are extremely clear. The microphone is ok- I'd rate it at 6/10. It's a bit muffled, personally, but about average for this style of headphones.For noise cancellationIt's decent, but not amazing. I'd say 6.5-7/10. The anc turns on easily with the press of a button but the headphones themselves I don't think are insulted enough as sound does penetrate more than I'd like. For example, starting the tractor, the anc was able to detect and eliminate quickly but there is still enough sound coming though that I wouldn't be happy listening to a podcast while driving it.For exterior soundThere's a bit to be desired here also. Probably a 5/10. If you like loud music, I don't think wearing these publicly like an airplane for example, will suit the person next to you. I posted a video on full volume and you can clearly hear the song with the headphones together. My wife said that I had to get down to about 30% volume before she had a hard time knowing what was being said while sitting beside me.Comfort:Overall, they're pretty nice. I'd say 8/10.The headband is comfortable and the oscillation in the ear pieces allow for a better sit on the head- more of a one size fits all vs solid build, which is great. The ear muffs could be better I feel, they lacked in padding overall.In conclusion, for 80, I think they're a pretty decent choice given the vast selection of headphones on the market today. With great overall sound and some awesome features, including a wicked long battery life, I think these are an excellent choice for a wide variety of needs. Definitely recommend
