This was a very good upgrade. It was installed in my 2013 MX5. As you can see this is a 13-year-old car. The Boss radio was removed and I replace it with a Pioneer with a 7 inch screen. Therefore my connection of this device was done directly into the Pioneer radio. Not through the car. I read a lot of the comments of people before me about how they installed it. Their advice helped a lot with the installation. We learn from others. Therefore I took their advice, #1 uninstall my cellular connection in the radio system. #2 uninstalled the radio connection in my cell phone. Started all new connection. Once the item was plugged into the usb of the car. I asked the radio to find it, and it did (first try). Then I asked my pixel 8 cell to find the Bluetooth Android auto transmitter. But because my car is 13 years old. I thought that this would not work. And I was right. The car was too old. Therefore as you see in the picture. I then plugged the unit directly into the Pioneer radio unit which was more recent. Into the same USB port that I used to plug my cell phone in when using Android auto. It connected perfectly. Note, this will take about a minute or less. Take note that you will have time to start your car, put your seat belt on, and put the car and drive. All this before the cell phone will connect to the screen with Android auto. Again it's a Bluetooth connection. I found no lag whatsoever when talking to somebody, or changing an app on my screen. It worked perfectly. I placed it behind the glove box, under the dash. It's out of sight, and it works perfectly. When connected one time. It turned off my phone completely. And then my phone rebooted up again. But this was not caused by the Android auto Bluetooth transmitter. I have had this difficulty with Android auto on my phone just recently. It started since the last update from Google for Android auto. So I believe the problem is either with my pixel 8 phone or Android auto. It has nothing to do with this new connection.I think it's very important to follow step one and two that I've laid out. The person that suggested to do this, I believed help me connect this very easily first time. Your phone has to be disconnected from your radio completely. And your radio has to be wiped clean of your cell phone connection. By doing this and starting all over from scratch. You get an immediate connection between the two. Your cell phone to the Bluetooth device that is plugged into your radio (or usb port in your car). Have patience. Remember often when you can't get the computer to work. The problem is between the screen and the chair. In this case, it's between the steering wheel and the seat. This is great. I can now get in my vehicle and drive with my cell phone in my pocket, not laying between the center console. Safety first. Here in the province of Quebec, Canada. You can receive a ticket for having your cell phone laying on a console. A cell phone has to be fixed to the vehicle. With stand or something. This is to stop people from picking up their phones at red lights and texting with them. Please note I only connected my cell phone this way too my radio with the Bluetooth device. I did not pair my wife's cell phone to this device. So she can still drive my car and have her phone connected to the radio (like before) to receive phone calls. Her phone recognizes the radio, and the radio recognizes her phone. They do not connect to the new Android auto Bluetooth device like mine. But she can't use Android auto. Either way she doesn't use Android auto much. Also she doesn't like driving my sports car.... she's happy, and so am I.

I was having a problem keeping my phone connected via wire to my Harley. It would start out working fine, and then throughout a ride it would intermittently disconnect. This device has solved that problem. It fits nicely in my HD Ultra Limited's storage compartment and has not once disconnected - even after a full day of riding. It connects to the bike and phone automatically on startup. Perfect!

I have a Samsung Galaxy note 20 ultra and my car is an ioniq 5 2023. For the first 24 hours, I was really impressed by this product. It was really easy to install and the connection was flawless. The problem started the next day.. for some reason, the dongle just stopped working. My phone will connect to it throughout Bluetooth but then, the dongle will not make the connection to Android auto. I tried every step they suggest to make it work to no success. The only way I found to make it work is to reboot my phone and the dongle, Wich is not practical at all, and this needs to be done almost everytime. This product is a joke and I can't suggest something that clunky.

I've tried a handful of these android auto devices and here is my review:

Car I used it on: 2021 toyota 4runner
Phone I used to connect to it: Oneplus 9 Pro
Android version: 13

Apps I tested out on android auto with this device:
- Waze
- Google Maps
- Google assistant
- Spotify
- Phone
- Whatsapp

Pros:
- Easy to plug into the car and the USB Adapter is USB 3.0 which is great if you need to use it
- Easy to connect to if you follow the instructions (btw it does need the wifi on your phone to be on)
- Made lots of phone calls with this device and the sound quality is about the same as my cars' normal microphone
- When it doesn't lag it works as fast as normal android auto and able to handle spotify and waze working at the same time
- My car controls work just fine like switching songs and clicking voice to activate google assistant
- Takes about 15 seconds max to connect because once you turn on your car it takes time for your car to understand that this device wants to display android auto which is fine since you can't control how long your car takes to start up android auto
- USB 3.0 adapter works perfectly fine

Cons:
- Sometimes it lags a lot like to the point where my touch screen when in android auto doesn't work or my google maps/waze doesn't update to my accurate location and looks like im still in the same spot. The fix i had for this was literally unplugging it and plugging it back in again then it works fine
- The dongle cable is a little long and isn't stiff so it makes it bendy and it does flop around a bit when driving but its stiff enough not to just plop down. Wish the dongle cable was built into the device and you can pull it out if you need more of an extension or push it back in if you want a shorter length
- If your dashcam requires you to have a wifi connection to it you won't be able to have both the dashcam and this android auto device connected to your phone as the android auto device requires a wifi connection

Overall Review:
- This Android Auto device is still one of the best I've tried in this price range and small at the same time
- I will continue to use this Android Auto device until I find a better one but probably wont look for another one as this is the best price you can get for this level of functionality
- Hopefully a software update to the device will fix the occasional lagging

I was having trouble with my android connection by wire in my new vehicle, it kept cutting out.
Someone mentioned to purchase a wireless module.
This one was not necessarily the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive.
I decided to give it a try, and worst case scenario I could always return it for the more expensive one.
But I have to say, since I plugged it in and paired it with my phone and car system, I have not once lost the connection!!
It was sooooo simple and the unit is small enough to hide out of the way .
I recommend this product 💯.

I've used this dongle for a couple weeks now and I am very happy with it's performance. I drive a 2021 Toyota Tundra and would need to have my phone plugged in all the time to use Google maps. But with this dongle there is no need for that anymore. It was very easy to set up, and the Bluetooth connects seamlessly every time I start the truck. It does take a few seconds to connect, but that's not a deal breaker for me. Would definitely recommend this dongle.

Android auto is the pp that comes with this. It works with some models even without the blue tooth piece. Which is cool. This is pretty Easy to set up. I drive older cars. This worked well with one but not the other. You do need to make sure you have a screen to plug in and use. If you do not it will not work. It works well with my honda that has an after market screen.

This flat dongle connected right away to our android phones and connects right away each day. It fits nicely in the gadgets tray of our Bronco Sport. Be sure to read the instructions and note that you must first connect to it on BT, and it will handle connecting the Wi-Fi client used for Android Auto. I've had it a little over a month and it works every time.

This is just a fantastic product I didn't even know existed until someone told me about it. But the gist is you plug it in to a car that had regular plug in android auto, connect to it with your phone, and boom, you now have wireless android auto. And it's fantastic and means Android Auto is just that much easier to use. The USB C connection always came loose or didn't work and I had to swap it around and get new cables and it was just awful. I also got a case that has magsafe and a magsafe charger and after the car and charger cools off I also have a wireless way to charge.
