Don’t buy the expensive ones, this one does the job just fine and has enough storage for the next few years of gaming.
One thing I hate is the constant white flashing when a game is updating. Sometimes when my console is offline which leaves me to un plug the unit from my Xbox when I’m not using it

Was looking for an external HDD for cold storage backups, WD always is my go to for everything from SSD to spinning rust. I gave this a try because it is cheaper than the other competitors at the same capacity. It is NOT a 7200rpm drive it runs at 5400rpm which kind of cheapens the WD Black name but for backups it is good enough. Sure its a gaming drive first but I don't really care about the looks and the case is plastic not metal I am happy to see an activity led (white) this is going the way of the dinosaur lately and I hate devices that don't have it as removing them is always a gamble when you don't know if they are stopped for sure. Time will tell on longevity but with a 3 year warranty I am not too worried and I also have backups of backups so yeah I am ready for failure.

I use a NAS box for file storage (4TB mirrored pair). I've been using a 3.5" 4TB drive for backing up the NAS, but it's big and clunky. A 2.5" 4TB drive would be more compact, easy to store. Problem is, 4TB 2.5" hdd drives are very uncommon. Then I came across this WD unit. Hurray! :-) It works well, but long term reliability is unknown, so 4 stars.

Update July 17/23 . . .
At the tail-end of the file copy process, there were some error messages about "properties" of some files. So I reformatted the drive from exFAT to NTFS, and copied the files again. This time there were no errors.

Update Aug 05/23 . . .
REMOVE the DRIVE?
Someone asked if you could remove the drive from the casing -- yes, you can. The 4 corner screws have a Torx head, but a very small flat-blade screwdriver will work. Once the lid is off, it's a matter of gently prying at the 2 drive mounting points farthest away from the usb connector. Once that end of the drive is lifted, you can work on the other 2 points. NOTE: the Micro-B connecter is a permanent part of the drive -- do be gentle when prying around that area. Note also: this is a 15mm drive (not 7). It looks like the drive is designed to snap into place. The clips can be released, and theoretically, you could clip the drive back into the casing, if that's what you really wanted to do.

I bought this during Black Friday so it was good value for money. I don't use it specifically for gaming but it works just fine as an external storage. Plug in and play, no additional software to be installed. The case is made of metal, not just making it more durable but giving it a cool look as well.

I bought a couple of these to replace some older WD "Passport" 2-Tb drives that were getting tight for space. The P10's seem excellent so far. Winsat seq read speed was 181MB/s with the drives' default ExFAT formatting. After reformatting to NTFS (more robust IMO) the speed tested as 223 MB/s. This should be more than fast enough to play HD video without choppiness. The drives are very quiet and have one unobtrusive LED status light that slowly blinks when the drive is active. They come with an 18" 5Gb/s cable. Best of all, they run off USB power so there's no separate power supply to clutter things up. Longevity is the only unknown at this point but hopefully they'll be as reliable as my old WD Passport drives. Based on my experience so far I would certainly buy these again.

Solo un detalle, pero no es del producto como tal, es de xbox series s ya que no permite almacenar en la unidad los juegos de series sx y correrlos, solo los almacena, a diferencia de los de xbox one y 360 que si los almacena y los reproduce. Si lo que quieres es extender memoria para juegos series s y x tendrán que comprar la memoria de xbos
