Sturdy but bigger than anticipated
I’ve been looking for another tripod/selfie stick because my old one tends to take photos crooked.Right out of the box, I noticed that it’s heavier and larger than my last (old stick on the left in photos, current item with the yellow on the right). This is an acceptable trade off considering the base of the tripod is wider than the older one and feels sturdier.With the old tripod, the weight of my phone (iPhone 15pro) always caused the holder to tilt a bit. This is due to the clamp not being centered to the base of the tripod. If you look at my photo comparing the two in red circles, you’ll see the holder/clamp of my old tripod on the left hangs to the right. No tilt issues with this one as the clamp holds my phone right in the middle.Lastly, aside from the larger size, I mainly took off a star because the remote seems to be battery operated. I would have preferred it being rechargeable like my old one. Both my husband and I tried opening sliding the battery lid open, but it wouldn’t budge and we didn’t feel like breaking a nail. That said, not sure what the longevity of the remote will be if we can’t switch out the batteries later. Aside from that, I tested the remote and it paired with my phone without issues and took photos seamlessly.
