Its beautiful and it feels solid. It's got a super rugged and sleek build meant for portability. I even installed and ran some steam games on it. StarWars fallen order ran quick with load times comparable to my internal ssd. I'm using the USB-c to USB-c connection, which was supplied in the box.I mainly bought this because my 500GB internal ssd in my gaming laptop was always full. This granted me an additional 500GB that runs seemlessly with my laptop. I'm very impressed with this unit.I give this a score of 3 storm trooper helmets and 1 discarded pizza crust. Or 5/5 stars if you use amazon's scoring system. Buy this ssd.

Stupidly insane fast speeds if you're using the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port. It's a great buy if you use it to back up your hard drives. My old external hard drive used to take 15 hours, on average more or less, to back up and now it takes 30 minutes. The only bad thing about it is the price.

Incompatible on x box one tried on 3 different models and none of them allows me to format, only recognized as a media device tried everything to no avail,so i bought a dual male y split usb 3.0 cable...it solved my problem(s) it allows the external drive to be supplied by 2 usb ports but...max speeds are app 54mb/s but stil works bought this for my yet to be received xbox series x

While more expensive than the alternatives, you get what you pay for. I couldn't believe how small the device is (but then again I'm use to the more traditional HDDs, not these lean SSDs!). A breeze to set up for a PS5, and lightening fast transfer speeds means that I haven't noticed any lag when playing PS4 games directly off the SSD. Highly recommended.

Warning: this drive does not work well with the PS5! If you're looking to backup PS5 games or play PS4 games, it works fine. However you cannot play PS5 games from this drive!!! Also it needs to use the USB-C port in the front. The USB-A ports on the back cannot be used! If I had known this, I would have chosen a different drive.

First off I have to mention, as with any and every hard drive, you will never get the full terabyte of space regardless of if it’s formatted to be totally empty or there’s an operating system on it or not. That’s how hard drives work, so those people leaving bad reviews because they didn’t get the “full” 1TB just don’t understand drives and file systems and calculated space vs actual. We’re not going to go on and on about that, if you’re going to fork out the money for it then you should already know that. This is the best external drive you can get for PS5 (if you get the SSD model). This SSD is nearly as fast as the internal PS5 drive. It can move game files very quickly and I’m impressed. I play almost all my PS4 games off of it with no issues (Fallout 76, GTA5, Warzone, Division 2). Load times are equally as fast. This includes both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A. If you read the articles about the PS5 you should also already know that you have to use the USB ports in the back of the console (No USB hubs/Splitters/docking station) or the USB-C port in the front in order to use the high speed data transfer. It’s worth the money, especially with the coming release of the internal SSD upgrade update for PS5 because the price of those just went sky high and on back order. So if you need something to hold you over until then, this is your sure winner. Western Digital makes high quality stuff, will also work perfectly for personal PC storage if your computer has the latest USB gen ports AND your computers internal hard drive is rated for these speeds.
