Western Digital makes high quality SSDs, and this one is no exception. M.2 drives are SUPER easy to install and remove.Like all M.2 drives, it's as fast as the enclosure you put it in and the connection methodology allows. I don't have a particularly fast enclosure. My internal SSD on my M1 MacBook Air has a Blackmagic Speed Test of 3,315 MB/s read/2,878 MB/s write. In the enclosure I use, with this drive I'm getting USB 3.2 speeds of either 360/337 (basically SATA II) or 821/831, depending on how it is plugged in. That's a result of NOT using a Thunderbolt speed enclosure. If I had a better enclosure, I'm sure this drive could handle Thunderbolt 3 speeds and probably Thunderbolt 4.Still, I knew that going in and am happy with the speeds I'm getting for what I use it for. I may upgrade enclosure later, but for now, the price I paid for this drive represents excellent value, and it gives me the ability to upgrade the enclosure later.

Works good, easy to install; be weary you need to make sure the "stand off" is in the right spot or it's even there. Mine was pre-installed on my computer. The drive should sit parallel with the motherboard/circuit board; don't push it down too far. I've always had good luck with Western Digital storage products, even their old WD black edition mechanical hard drives. I have never had a Western Digital drive fail on me yet, still have my old 640GB black drives from 2010. Magnet screwdriver is really recommended to install this drive, the retaining screw is VERY small. Be careful not to cross thread it as well. No DRAM on the drive but does use HMB (Host-based Memory Buffer) for speedy operation. Works great for gaming. Love the black color, matches my all black computer theme well. Doesn't seem to run hot at all, haven't seen anything over 50C while gaming (these usually mount near a very hot graphics card (if you have one) in desktop computers). All in all decent price for pretty good performance. If your a gamer the money saved here could go to something really useful like a bigger graphics card, more system RAM (memory) or next tier up CPU. The "SSD Dashboard" app is decent as well, shows drive spec's, health, used and available space, interface speed supported, interface speed connected, S.M.A.R.T tests, temps, if "DirectStorage" is supported, checks and updates drive firmware as well and a bunch of other stuff. It's one of the last good apps that you can select to "not start up automatically". It'll show other installed drives as well but doesn't show any info on them if they aren't Western Digital. All in all a good purchase.

I bought a used gaming PC and it was unbelievably slow. I did some research, and decided to make the HDD a secondary storage drive, and install a new SSD for my games and my boot drive.

This seems to be the best value for the money. Very easy install, and my computer is waaaaay faster now. I barely know anything about computer assembly, and it was still easy.

It used to take upwards of 3-5 minutes to boot up my computer, and now it takes 10 seconds max. Highly recommend switching over, if youre on the fence about it.

I was worried about the temps of my operating system drive in Windows 11, and read that WD_Black had a good rep for cooler running than some competitors. I transferred my O/S to this new drive, and the running temps dropped 10-15° C with the same position in the case and the same heat sink. It's lightning fast, cool, and has a chip layout that's heat-sink-friendly. I've long been a Samsung fan, and I still love my Samsungs, but this one seems to me to be a step up.

If this is your first NVME drive, you will see, it is FAST. Easy to install if you are familiar with how to do it. If not, consult your motherboard's guidebook as it should tell you how.

Excelente producto. Pero yo lo recomendaría cómo el drive de arranque o un driver de almacenamiento qué NO planeas llevar al límite. Puesto que este drive no tiene DRAM. Así que usara el ram de tú computadora. Así que sí tienes RAM de sobra. Este es un excelente producto. De igual manera es mucho más rápido que cualquier HDD.

Duzentas vezes mais rápido que um HD comum. Clonei meu sistema para o SSD em poucas horas, agora a inicialização é quase instantânea. Melhorou, inclusive, a velocidade de download pelo Steam, por exemplo (no qual existia o gargalo da velocidade de gravação do HD ao baixar um game).
