Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 FFP Riflescope - EBR-2C (MOA) (DBK-10026)

Try not to spit out your coffee as you check the price of the Diamondback Tactical FFP after reading about its impressive performance and features. The first focal plane reticle, a feature ordinarily reserved for 4-figure-priced optics, allows shooters to use the information-packed EBR-2C reticles for ranging, holdovers or windage corrections on any magnification. Housed inside its durable, one-piece aluminum tube is a 4x optical system delivering excellent edge-to-edge clarity and sharp resolution. Exposed elevation and windage turrets are low profile enough to stay out of the way in packing situations, but offer the quickness, ease and precision of dialing accurate shots at distance. A side adjustable parallax gives shooters peace of mind by removing parallax error from the equation from 10 yards to infinity.

EBR-2C MOA Reticle

  • Designed to maximize long-distance shooting and ranging abilities, the EBR-2C MOA reticle can be used to effectively determine ranges, holdovers, windage corrections and moving target leads. The ultra-precise laser-etched glass reticle ensures the MOA specifications are kept to the tightest tolerances possible. The fine center crosshair subtensions on the EBR-2C MOA reticle were carefully chosen to provide the optimum balance of precision aiming and low light visibility.
  • First focal plane (FFP) reticles are located near the windage and elevation turrets in front of the image-erecting and magnifying lenses. This style of reticle will visually grow and shrink as you change the magnification. The main advantage of a first focal plane reticle is that the reticle subtensions used for ranging, holdover, and wind drift correction are consistent at all magnifications.

Product itself is obviously not the holy grail of the rifle scopes. But for the price you can't really argue.
The scope I got is 6-24X, same magnification as my Viper PST.
Image quality is unnoticeable between the two up to 12X or so, but the image quality is decent up to 20X, beyond that quality of the glass is becoming obvious.
Where this scope has an advantage over my 1st gen Viper PST is that this has a 10 yard to infinity focus, making this more useful close up, say if you are hunting for grouse or rabbit.
For the price and Vortex's warranty, I can't think of a better budget scope

Anche se il prodotto è confezionato in Cina, la qualità della Vortex rimane invariata. Per il suo ottimo livello qualitativo, l'ottica è da considerarsi economica. I click delle torrette sono ben distinguibili; la torretta di regolazione del parallasse è un po' dura da regolare, ma funziona. Anche la regolazione del numero di ingrandimenti è duro da ruotare, ma non crea grossi problemi. Sotto i 10 ingrandimenti si fa fatica a vedere le tacche del reticolo; rimane ben visibile la il crosshair. Quando si ruota la torretta di regolazione verticale, non troviamo alcun indice che ci dica se siamo al primo o al secondo giro. Bisogna stare attenti. Ma per il prezzo proposto, non possiamo chiedere di più.

We bought this scope for our young son to teach him to shoot as the rifle (savage axis) didn't come with iron sights. It's definitely more than we expected. Crystal clear image and powerful enough to see heat risers. Easy to zero and it held it like a champ. By the end of the first day at the range he was grouping at 2in and putting bullet within bullet hole at 200yds. We were using a marking target paper and the scope was able to pickup the holes easily in it... no walking down the range to see what's going on. The adjusting knobs felt good without exaggerated 'wiggle'. They had a nice click that can be felt on your fingers so you can count off the moa. Important when reaching out and/or hunting. We went with the Vortex rings for the mounting. Too many people cheap out with the rings then complain that the glass isn't performing as advertised.
This scope "does not" have a locking zero. Bummer, but you can't have it all. If you want a locking zero then you have to step up. We did. We now own two scopes and a hoodie.
The warranty is real. I had a problem with one of the scopes. Called them up, no hassle, sent it back and got it returned really quick. The scope was fine though.... I screwed up in the mounting... oops.
Great scope for the price, twice the price.

I have shot to a 1000+ yards with this scope. The dials/zoom are a little stiff so I bought a throw lever but I can see my impacts at this range. There are no markings for counting full rotations when using the elevation dial so you just have to count and reset back to 0 when finishing at the range. I needed 3 full rotations (45 moa) for one of the rifles I was using to reach 1025 yards (MOA scope version, should have got mrad). This scope gets the job done well but don’t expect it to be like other expensive scopes. The parallax goes up to 300 before reaching infinity.

Great Scope for precision shooting. Easy Setup, Great magnification, smooth adjustments.
I prefer First Focal Plane viewing and have grown to really like MRAD for adjustments.
Easy to adjust turrets, you can set your zero then set turrets to 0.
