Monocular itself is nice, however the box was opened when it was received and there was no soft carry case included, when the box said there should be. I purchased this to replace a stolen one, so I am knew what to expect and this isn't it.

This is great , keep in a pocket while hiking , can easily see things clearly 2 km away on the trail . Its really 2 handed most of the time , comfortable grip after you use it a few times you will be able to adjust it in 2 seconds to focus. Being small its nice to carry it along.

I was looking for a small and lightweight monocular to use on hiking, kayaking and traveling trips. This monocular meets my needs. The lens is bright and sharp for 25mm optics, it is perfect size, lightweight and inobtrusive. It is also waterproof and fogproof. I was also considering 8x25 but I'm glad I got 10x25. I am able to keep it steady and appreciate 10x magnification. I was also considering Hawke 10x25, but Vortex has slightly wider field of view (315 vs 288) and longer eye relief (14.5mm vs 13mm) which helps since I wear glasses. I wish Vortex provided just lens caps instead of an oversized case with velcro (sound scares birds and animals). That is the only minor negative.

For $74 this monocular is a steal, especially with the superb Vortex no-nonsense lifetime warranty.
Highly recommended.

I purchased the Vortex Solo 10x25 monocular. It is lightweight, handy and has excellent clarity. It does not have lens caps but comes with a small carrying case with a velcro closure. It easily fits into my coat pocket so I don't use the case but always make sure that you don't have anything that can scratch the lenses in there.

Quality is good, its handy and does what it should. Found it worked well out to 100 meters at the range, but you need to hold it still. Bino’s are better but this will be lighter and handy for hunting. Over all worth it and Im happy with it

Very easy to use, focus adjustment is intuitive and can be done one handed but still holds when you pull it in and out of your pockets

10x zoom lets you see farther than you would otherwise but might mess with your eye if you use it alongside a more common 6x zoom range finder.

The 25mm opening is definitely on the small side and limits the use in very low light conditions such as around dusk and dawn or under heavy canopy cover, but that's what you trade for having it extremely conpact.

The lens has a tendency to fog up if I don't remove my face covering when hunting, but it still clears up very quickly without having to wipe

The lens coating seems very durable and hasn't scratched despite it living in my pockets for the whole whitetail bow season.
(the provided case is velcro and poorly designed)

The strap it comes with is nice, but extremely UV reflective, so I had to ditch it.

I wanted the most power I could get in handheld. Some sites noted that higher powers are hard to hold steady, and this seems to be true. I do not have an 8x, but in hindsight, I might should have gotten that. This 10x does shake a bit. One needs to hold your breath and get steady. I chose the 25mm lens just from cost and size. I'm looking at birds at my feeder and yard critters, thus I don't need the wide field of view, and the wider instrument. DO NOTE: I got a carrying case for this, that is totally unnecessary. The additional case if fine Contrary to some reviews, the case that comes with this is perfectly fine ... actually better than the secondary case. I'll keep the secondary case in the event I change my mind or find another use for it. All said, seems like a good value for the money.
