I went to close the latch and the top of the latch and the screws popped out, indicating there were no nuts securing the screws in place (can’t check because the felt is covering the inside of the lid).

The top separated and the rest of the unit fell to the floor with most of his new collection inside. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who plans to use it frequently.

However, the latch doesn’t work at all. When you lift by handle the lid swings open.
(It’s not overloaded, even with 5 records inside)
Since it doesn’t stay closed, I’m unable to use as a carrying case. Just a record holder, sitting by my turntable. 2 starts cause it looks great.
Not functional though. Look elsewhere
