About this item

  • Castable: No more long & heavy cable for transducer. Clear Color Screen: it comes with clear color TFT LCD display (2 screen background colors selectable - black and white), which enables you to read the screen in bright sunlight or at night. It applies to lake, river, sea and other fishing environment. Suitable for trolling from a kayak or boat, casting from the shore or using for ice fishing.
  • It detects and displays water depth, water temperature, fish size (small/medium/big), fish depth, and bottom contour. It has Work and Simulation Mode. Measure units of depth and temperature can be converted. Sonar Beam Angle: 90 degree. Depth Range: 2.6-131FT/0.8-40M.
  • No need to drill hole in your boat hull to install the sensor any more. Two small holes on the sensor allow you to tether with your fishing line and cast it onto water as far as you want.
  • Note: 1. Press and hold 3 seconds to turn on the display. 2. The sensor will turn on automatically when cast into water. 3. When the sensor is off, its battery Indicator on the display is incorerct. Red indicator light on the sensor will turn off when it is fully charged. If you would like to check the sensor's battery status from the display, please put the sensor in water. It will turn on when it floats on water. The sensor's battery Indicator on the display will then display correctly.

The Venterior VT-FF005 is a castable and rechargeable fish finder with clear color screen for avid fisherman. It is suitable for trolling from a kayak or boat, casting from the shore or using for ice fishing. You will be able to learn the depth, temperature and bottom contour of lakes that don't have topographical maps, and find where the fish are in lakes.

  • Fish alarm: An alarm sounds when a group of fish is detected. The alarm feature can be turn off if you prefer quiet fishing.

Attention/Tips:

  1. Its reading might be interfered by other high power sonar fish finder close to your fish finder.
  2. When the sensor is off, its battery Indicator on the display is incorerct. Red indicator light on the sensor will turn off when it is fully charged. If you would like to check the sensor's battery status from the display, please put the sensor in water. It will turn on and connect with the display unit when it floats on water. The sensor's battery Indicator on the display will then display correctly.
  3. The cover/top of the sensor should be removed when charging, and should NOT be removed when used.
  4. Oil, dirt would adhere to the surface of the sensor and will affect the sonar sensor's performance. Please make sure the surface of the sensor is clean.
  5. Please prevent the sensor from crashing into rocks or other hard items.

Measures only a couple feet in 60 foot depth. It doesn’t pick up my lure or anything. Can’t be used as a fish finder let alone a depth finder. Have tried on multiple lakes now at all different depths and ice thickness

Originally I've rated this product with 1 star. Received the fish finder back in August, just before my week long fishing trip to Norther-Ontario. Unfortunately the device did not work as promised. Only after two days of use there was a connection problem between the sonar and the handset. I sent back the whole package and received my refund promptly. Not long after this ( I think it was only three days ) I received an e-mail from the seller, thanking me for my review of the product and offering a brand new set. I've excepted the offer and received the package. I am very happy to inform everybody who cares, that this set works great after one week of use.
I understand that thinks can go wrong and things can happen. How one reacts to it will make a huge difference. This time the seller reacted promptly and correctly which is highly appreciated. This turned into one of my best experience on Amazon so far. A seller like this deserves a 5 STAR rating an deserves our business. Thank you!

Why waste time fishing in "empty" water! Venterior Portable Fish Finder can help you to locate where the fishes are before you cast your line out. Keep in mind that this fish finder does not work properly if you drag it behind your fishing boat because the waves can cause it to give false signals. Get the right kind of Venterior Fish Finder if you intend to use it while trolling.

Déjà deux achigans de capturés à un endroit où je n’aurais jamais lancé ma ligne sans ce sonar. L’écran est petit, le soleil reflète beaucoup dessus, mais il indique correctement la profondeur et la présence de poisson, même en eaux troubles comme celle de la rivière des Mille îles. Je suis agréablement surpris. Attention, les batteries de la sonde (+/- 4h de pêche ) durent moins longtemps que celles du moniteur. L’avantage de pouvoir les recharger après la sortie est vraiment super. Pas besoin de charrier plein d’affaires lourdes.

The folks at Venterior are extremely helpful, and very responsive. Best customer service experience I have had with any fishing gear company. Be sure to register your product per the instructions.
Definitely get a waterproof pouch that you can wear around your neck for the receiver. A 6' - 6'6" heavy or medium heavy pole with strong line is tough enough to cast the transducer.
Read the manual when you get it. The receiver has plenty of customization to suit your fishing. The display is big, bright, and easy to analyze. Alarms are adjustable, and can be quite loud.
I used this fish finder for kayak crappie fishing for its first test. I was able to hit multiple spots where I thought crappie would be, and move on after only a few minutes of fan casting the transducer and getting no fish alerts or indicators. I cut my fishing time down by 15 minutes a spot, and made better use of my paddle time. I finally paddled to a spot with 90 degree cliffs, water depth of 37', and water temp in the 50s. I cast the transducer out and instantly got fish alerts. The fish depths on the receiver were between 15' and 11'. I left the transducer bobbing in the water while I fished. Within seconds I had fish in the kayak. You don't have to stare at the receiver once the alarms and icons are set and you have some familiarity with the setup.
This finder is easy to use, extremely accurate, and easy to carry. Don't wait to buy one. It will make your fishing trips so much more enjoyable.

This is a niffy unit. Very compact and easy to use. It seems to be quite accurate except when ice fishing. I think the 90-degree sonar beam bounces off the sides of the ice hole and does not read the depth well. It would be better if the sonar angle was adjustable or more narrow. I'll keep trying.
Up-Date: After a few more outings I'm getting much better results. And the ice has been even thicker so I think I was having issues due to settings. After getting more familiar with it I can say it works quite well. Very happy with it.
