I've been using Vega Protein Vanilla for a few years now, and I am thoroughly impressed. The flavor is delicious – it's smooth, not overly sweet, no bad aspartame after taste and blends well with fruits and veggies in my smoothies.What I love most about this protein powder is its clean ingredient list. It's plant-based, packed with essential nutrients, and free from artificial additives. It mixes easily with water or milk, and doesn't leave any chalky aftertaste, which is often a concern with protein powders.

New: Just bought and tried the Greens unsweetened and I love it. I like this brand a lot so far. Not frothy or gritty, it really does blend into a smoothie very nicely. To sweeten this one I add half a banana or nothing and I like the non sweet taste.

Original: I bought the vanilla and I like it! It can taste a little too sweet if I add banana to my smoothie but I still enjoy it. I do not find this one foamy which is what I really don't like about protein powders. It has a slight grittiness, but NOT bothersome. I find it blends really smooth! I have not had it plain in just water. Next I am going to try the coconut almond flavour and the chocolate.

Three of my go to smoothies:
1) 1/2 cup cup coffee, 1/2 cup chocolate oat milk, 1/2 cup ice, one scoop powder - add more liquid if need.
2) 3/4 cup coffee, 1 cup ice, 1/2 banana, one scoop powder - add more liquid if need
3) 1 cup frozen tropical fruit, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup water, one scoop powder

To start I don’t think judging on taste alone is fair at this price point. There are far more expensive options out there that don’t taste any better. Honestly, the tastes isn’t too bad. I’ve had 4 flavors now and the berry one is my favorite followed by salted caramel, vanilla and chocolate last. When mixed with straight water it needs to be shaken often or consumed fast or it will settle at the bottom. Nothing a quick shake can’t fix.

I make a habit out of blending it with oat milk, water and frozen or fresh fruit. When made in to a smoothie like this it does not separate and tastes pretty good, especially the berry one. Half a ripe banana with a spoon of PB mixed with 50/50 water and oat milk fills a Gatorade bottle with a nice shake. Banana and strawberries or just mixed berries or even just mango all make nice creamy shakes where the powder does not separate.

Got Vanilla- could smell the Vanilla when you open it. For me it was perfect sweetness. Only thing and it's tiny is needs to be well shaken. I drank half let the other half sit. It tasted like slight chalky I shook it back up and it went away. Won't notice it in smoothies. I tried this brand in 2017 n it was horrible. I only tried it again because of the reviews. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I really like it. Just for those that drink like regular whey protein there is a difference but once you accept that it's vegan the perfect vegan protein powder. Texture is different than regular whey proteins.

Update ... wouldn't buy again overtime the texture stands out against my regular whey protein. N not ideal for water bottles as it as to be unclogged as the powder creates a seal at the top. Will try there sport one next to see if it's better.

One of my favourite protein powders by far! It blends very easily and smoothly. As I cut back on the amount of sugar I eat though, I’m finding the taste is quite sweet! So if you do limit sugar in your lifestyle, keep this in mind and maybe don’t add extra sugary fruits like banana to a smoothie. I mix a scoop and a half with about 2 cups almond milk and a scoop of collagen. You don’t need anything else for it to taste good.

I have tried a lot of proteins and I cannot do this one.

Blending: I use a frother to mix my proteins and it mixed pretty good, there were a few chunky clumps at the bottom tho.

Taste: this is where it fails for me. I read reviews before purchasing and although there were some that said no to taste I decided to believe those who said it was great. For me it is awful. It's extremely bitter (and I'm not huge on sweets). It also has a coconut (I think) taste to it, and I do not like coconut. I've had proteins before that I choked back and could but I honestly don't think I can drink this again. I tried twice and it didn't get any better.

Overall I wouldn't recommend it, also, it can't be returned so that sucks too.

This stuff is good for quick protein in the morning or after a workout because it is surprisingly satiating, but it's difficult to make a smoothie or recipe with it. The sweetener is too strong for me, and it remains "grainy" no matter what you do to it. Tried shaking it with water, blending it with milk, blending it into a smoothie and using it in overnight oats. Meh...

I find it most palatable blended with milk and ice. It makes me bloat, but I think that's expected when trying a vegan protein powder for the first time. No other negative reactions otherwise. Probably won't buy this particular flavor again, but I might try the unflavored for more versatility
