I am impressed with this Dash Cam. I am pleased that you have the option to include with the photo, the GPS information, your licence plate number for identification and date/time stamp. There are buttons on the camera itself to access the various menus on the camera, but where this camera really shines is the VanTrue App. I think this will be every user's go-to if you want to maneuver through the various menus without having to play around with the buttons on the bottom of the camera. The VanTrue app will allow you the ability to control the camera as well as various voice commands. Some of the commands are definitely ones that you will use such as TAKE PHOTO, SHOW REAR CAMERA, SHOW FRONT CAMERA, SHOW BOTH CAMERAS. I would have liked a listing in the manual to show all the commands, because finding out what the voice commands were not obvious. But I did try out the voice commands and the commands worked without issue. Your ability to access photos is much easier with the VanTrue app as you can just download the videos or photo stills that you take, otherwise you would disconnect the camera from the car and connect by USB to a PC to download. I ran into a problem with the wireless Android Auto dongle that also uses WiFi, however, I was able to figure out ways to eliminate this issue.Wireless Android Auto and controlling the camera by the VanTrue app can't be used together, but I could switch to a wired connection for the Android Auto. There is a remote, which can be used to take snapshots, take event video, set the audio on/off. The VanTrue app will be something everyone will want to use though because it makes actions easier, like downloading photos or video, setting up the camera.I took pictures during the day and at night to evaluate the quality of the pictures and video that was attained. I was drawn to VanTrue for their use of the SuperCapacitor, which allows operation down to -20 C, which is quite common during the Canadian winters.I was very amazed with how well this camera was made and how it operated. The remote and VanTrue app controlled the camera as expected.

Originally bought a cheaper generic dashcam, but after it constantly fell off the windshield and malfunctioned I returned it and did more research. I wanted something reliable and parking mode enabled. I came across Vantrue products, never heard of this company before and I gave it a chance (Im glad i did). For me the E2 was perfect, high resolution front and rear camera. The software on the camera is straight forward and easy to navigate. The adhesive provided is very strong. Along with this purchase I also ordered the CPL Lens to help minimize glare and OBD to Type C USB cable (to provide power to dash cam when vehicle is off [Parking mode]). All accessories worked great no issues and quality as Vantrue is known for is top notch. I did have an issue with the OBD cable since it was an older model, but I reached out to Vantrue Support and they rectified the issue and sent me a new cable. The support response was fast, which is why I feel like Vantrue is one of those few companies that take pride in their products. The price for their dashcams are justified greatly and well worth every penny. I won't hesitate to recommend Vantrue to anyone looking for a very reliable dashcam

My first car dash cam was 2019 VANTRUE S1, a nifty and reliable dash cam that I really appreciate. Which is why I jumped at the opportunity to test the newer Vantrue E2.

After using it for 2 months, I find the Vantrue E2 to be well-designed with premium features. It has solid performance in terms of video recording with a minimum of 720p to 1944p (when 1080p is usually good enough for this purpose). The recorded videos are crisp and clear, even for those recorded at night-time. You can find driving speeds and GPS data on the videos, which are handy to have when providing video evidence.

This model is also more advanced than my previous one as it has a new voice control functionality. The no lab voice controls are responsive with simple command syntax. The remote control handles well and is easy to set up. Also, I really appreciate the mobile app! It is a useful feature that allows download of videos to my phone straight from the dash camera. Recording has to be switched off and the wifi turned on for this function to work, which most likely means you would need to be parked to use this function.

Overall, the Vantrue E2 is a robust system that I trust to take care of me on the road.

I read that this cam has a supercapacitor in lieu of a battery. That effectively means there is no battery... It doesn't say it anywhere but I believe it's only purpose is to save the recording if the cam suddenly loses power, like in an accident, and you have to get a hard wire kit to use parking mode. The description says you need hardwired power to use "24 hour parking mode" but I took that to mean lengthy parking without any power in between. Anyway, for the price, the quality is good, installation was easy... Interface is OK, app is OK... I hate that it says 5G for 5GHz wireless (it doesn't have a cell connection). Easiest way to retrieve video is to grab the card as transfer can be slow.

We upgraded from another (also very good) Vantrue cam so that we would be able to download clips over WiFi instead of pulling out an SD card and using a PC. The Vantrue mobile app has been good and gives us the ability to trim videos as well as to sync them to our phone, which moves them to the phone's camera folder where they can be automatically backed-up to the cloud with Google Photos, etc. This makes it so much easier to backup and share clips!

Other notable features that have impressed us:
- The app displays a map of where we were while watching downloaded clips. It can also display live camera feeds, which helps when installing the camera and trying to position it in the best spot in the windshield.
- Most (if not all) dashcam settings can be adjusted from the app. This is much easier than changing settings from a dashcam directly.
- The voice commands are very responsive. I am amazed by how quickly they activate.
- The rear camera quality is excellent. It appears to be about as good as the front camera.
- Quality of nighttime video is just amazing. It's just about as good as daytime video.
- The physical build quality is impressive. The front unit is made of metal and has a nice weight to it.
- They have upgraded from Mini USB connections to USB Type-C connections.
- The remote is handy. I didn't think I would care, but I really appreciate it now that I have it in a good spot. It's nice for passengers, too, as they can disable the mic or create a locked clip without having to be familiar with the buttons on the camera itself.
- A couple of electrostatic stickers are included, which can be used if you want to try camera in a temporary position or don't want the installation to be permanent.

This little upgrade turned out to be a major one!
