Find the Correct Fuse Slot

Open the fuse box, find the correct fuse slot for your hardwire kit. If you need to find an ignition switched fuse, put the key in the vehicle, find the fuse which is not lit up while the car is off, and test it by turning the car on to see if it lights up. If your kit requires constant power, turn off the car and remove the key to see which fuse slots stays lit on.

Connect the Red Wire and Yellow Wire

Once you've determined which fuse slots you need to use for your hardwiring kit you can crimp the red wire of your hardwire kit onto the Add-A-Fuse. Gently remove the fuse you identified. Install the fuse you just removed into the installation kit add-a-fuse circuit. Plug the add-a-circuit into the fuse box in the correct orientation. And the Yellow should be connected to the ACC.

Ground the Hardwiring Kit

Slip the black wire (which is in the shape of a C) under a metal bolt or screw in your vehicle (this is the ground wire). Check that it is not attached onto plastic parts. You will typically need a socket wrench to loosen the nut or bolt that you choose to ground with. To attach the grounding terminal, loosen the nut or bolt enough to slip it in and tighten it back up afterwards.

This is great quality. I was confused a little by the description because it looked like you only got 1 of the fuse cables when you need 2 of each - 1 for positive and 1 for accessory. Fortunately you get 2 of each, so no problems! Now I just need to instal it.

I used this for a permanent dash camera installation. It has adequate power for both front and rear cameras. The supplied connectors facilitates installation. The unit feels solid and like something is inside it. It came very well packaged and looks like a quality product. I bought a cheaper unit in a plain brown box but sent it back because it felt and looked cheap. I spent $200 have my dash camera professionally installed and the difference between a cheap kit was peanuts in the overall job. I'd attach a picture but it's all tucked away hidden in my dash and I have a dash camera without 10 extra feet of wire dangling all over the dash!

Purchased this for parking lot mishaps and to keep wires away from the dash. It works just as advertised, and so the camera works at all times. For those doing a DIY install, when checking for constant voltage in the fuses under the dash, keep the ground of a voltage meter on the vehicle; that is, don't test the two sides of the fuse slot, because there will not be an open circuit even though there is constant voltage supply. It took me a long time to figure this out, but once I did, the install was simple.

I have a Vantrue X45 Duo, and the description says it's compatible, so i bought this kit to have my camera 24x7.
instructions are clear and easy to understand, and there are many youtube how to install it.
Long story short it's not working.
I installed the kit more than a month after I got it from Amazon, there is no way to return or replace it, so I need to swallow the cost.

first issue. you get 4 types of wires for 4 different fuse types.
Given the fact you have the red and the yellow connecting to the same switch box, you need to connect to 2 of the same fuses, go figure out where to get the second wire.
Now you need to buy another wire to fit into your switch box, which will cost you almost as A full kit.
I have a Nissan Murano 2017, and all the fuses are Low-Profile Mini Blade type, so I spend another $25 to be able to connect the second wire.

In addition to the fuse list which exists on the fuse box, very clear where is the ACC, i used A voltmeter to check the voltage a few times to ensure i am connecting to the right fuse.
It's very important to connect the fuse extender in the right direction (+, and -), otherwise it will not work.
It's important to ensure the ground has a connection, otherwise, nothing works.
I checked and double-checked, I connected, and disconnected, and I connected again.
It's not working, I will have to look for a different one, I wasted my money on this product for nothing.

Before you spend a dime on this one ensure you read all the details, worst case, don't wait, install it on the same day, to have the ability to return if it's not working.

This is a really good add on for the Vantrue cameras, and gives you the ability to keep parking mode enabled without the risk of killing your battery due to low voltage. You can also leave parking mode off on your camera and just have the camera switch on and off with the ignition. It gives a nice professional looking installation to your camera.

Yes you could just wire the camera voltage to a switched accessory without this kit, but with the added functionality and the low cost of this kit, you would not be saving any money. Its worth it if you are going to hardwire.

On a related note, the passenger fuse boxes on F150 trucks from 2009 to 2014 ish that have low profile micro mini fuses, the fuse adapter/tap for the mini fuse will not fit. Instead just use the adapter for the mini fuses with the longer conductors. they are only a mm off the width, and are long enough to seat firmly without leaving an exposed conductor. I had to modify my fuse cover a bit but it still worked good.

there's hundreds of dash kits available on amazon but I wanted to get some from a reputable company because they tend to catch fire. this one is easy to setup, just fish the wire from the camera to the fuse panel and you are done. it provides protection for the car battery, camera turns off when the voltage gets too low. also the kit comes with all the fuse taps you need and the ground cable comes crimped. the cable insulation is thick and won't be easily damaged if it gets caught in something during installation.
