I LOVED THAT IT CAME ON TIME. IT IS EASY TO USE /SOME OF IT IS WELL BUILT/ THE SMALL PLASTIC SIZE SCREW AND BACK SCREWS TO HOLD IT IN PLACE ARE SMALL PLASTIC TURN SCREWS. SHOULD BE BIGGER AND METAL WITH THAT SAID I LIKE IT AND WOULD BUY AN IMPROVED MODEL THAT FITS MY 6.5 UMIDIGI SMARTPHONE, I USED MY GPS MOUNT AND ADAPTED IT TO THIS HOLDER... WORKS GREAT NOW...

I bought it because I read it was made of metal. The part that clamp on the monocular or etc is made of metal, but not what hold the cell phone, which makes it all flimsy.

It was good for my old phone, but since I changed to iPhone 14 pro it started giving me trouble. The problem is iPhone 14 has 3 cameras and it is very difficult to get just the main camera working to take microscopic images.

This is a very interesting and cool product. I never thought to buy one, but it serves a very specific purpose that is applicable to more and more people these days. With cell phone cameras not only quickly becoming our primary cameras, but also coming in at very high resolutions. I am about to take this baby out on a Vegas vacation, but for now I have done some initial testing. As a side note, this item will not work with specifically with the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL; it has an awesome camera, but has very strange button placement and continues to turn the volume up when I tighten the phone holder part and the phone will not do anything else while this is going on. I ended up testing this on an Alcatel OneTouch with a pair of binoculars.

The frame is all metal and the parts that hold the phone and eyepiece are hard plastic. The latter screws to press down the eye piece and hold it in place, with foam padding on all 4 side of the diamond shaped eyepiece holder. There is an expanding part on the phone holder that goes wide enough to hold just about any phone currently on the market and it has foam padding on either side as well as the back to protect the phone. Then there is a screw in the back that allows the two parts to move around against each other so the phone can be adjusted to accommodate the height of the camera, then rotated to align with the eyepiece. Once everything is tightened, the entire thing is pretty solid. Larger phones will take a little more work to keep aligned and tighten, but my alcatel was so light that this was not an issue.

The tough part is getting results. It is extremely difficult to align the phone to the eyepiece and calibrate the eyepiece at a distance that the lenses will work together and produce a clear image. But this is not a fault of the product, it is a limitation of the lenses. With a little work, it does eventually work out. Overall, the construction and concept of the product is pretty solid and it does exactly what it says it does. I hope this review has helped you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product Overall

This is one of the most well built products in this category. It is part metal but the part that holds your cell phone is all plastic. Why start out with metal and end with a plastic part to hold your very expensive cell phone. I would have given 5 stars but the product is not all metal as advertised. Great functionality with the eye piece design but as stated above the phone holder is lacking because it is made from cheap plastic. Good product and I would recommend it. Hopefully the company will change the cell phone holder to metal than this product would be a 5 star item. 04/22/2022, I was at the shooting range this morning and as I was placing the eyepiece phone holder on the scope, the inside the clamp came office. This will be a problem and can cause damage to mt scope eyepiece. I had to return the item as defective.

I was looking for something so that I could use my cell phone to take pictures through my binoculars. The Vankey Cellphone Telescope Adapter Mount works great. It is very well build out of metal and is strong. I see reviewers who complain about how long it takes to set up and adjust each time to be ready to take pictures.. Yes the first set up and getting things lined up so that the cell phone camera is in the right place over the binocular eyepiece does take some adjusting. Once I had everything lined up right I made a note of where the adapter sat on the eyepiece. I then adjusted the cell phone holder so that the phone was still snug but I could pull it out of the holder without loosening the bolt. When I want to take pictures with my cell phone through my binoculars I just clamp the adapter on the eyepiece in the same position I found it works best then slide my cell phone into the holder with the camera over the binocular eyepiece. After a few practice tries I can now put the adapter on my binoculars, pop in my cell phone and be ready to take pictures in less than a minute. I am impressed with this product, exactly what I wanted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value!

This is a great value.

The eyepiece clamp and bracket is metal. Plastic here would be subject to deforming when the clamp is tightened, but this one seems very rigid...Holds tightly to the eyepiece of the Celestron 15x70 binoculars for which I bought the adapter. The rubber pads are a nice touch, though not really needed in this case as the eyepieces of these binoculars have a rubber surround. The slot on the bracket for the phone cradle/clamp is long enough to let me clamp to the phone I am using (Galaxy S4) well below the power and volume buttons on its sides towards the end with the camera.

The phone cradle/clamp opens in one directions from the eyepiece bracket, so with a phone that has a centered camera you must rotate the eyepiece bracket to line up the camera, but there seems to be plenty of range of adjustment with the slot in the eyepiece bracket to do that.

The binoculars I use have the type of rubber cup that can be folded back for use with eyeglasses or a camera. However one cannot clamp onto this part of the cup when folded back, you have to mount the adapter just past it, still on the rubber eyepiece surround but now on a single layer of rubber. Fortunately, this adapter holds the camera just far away from the eyepiece bracket to let you do this and still completely seat the camera in the cradle/clamp.

Once everything is adjusted and tightened, the mount holds the camera securely to the camera.

Couple notes.

Obviously the style eyepiece clamp will only fit an eyepiece up to the diameter of the opening in the bracket. This just does fit over my Celestron Skymaster 15x70 eyepiece. Also, the mounts eyepiece bracket needs to attach past the folded back cup rubber and the mount can then run into the pivot that attaches the binoculars 2 halves together. To address that I mount the adapter to the eyepiece with the individual diopter adjustment with that eyepiece screwed or "corrected" all the way out. I then focus the binocular using the image on the phone.

Although this has nothing to do with the performance of the mount...with the camera touching the binocular eyepiece, I was surprised at how little of the phones field of view the view the binocular filled in normal mode. I need to do a digital zoom of 1.5-2.0X in the camera to mostly fill the view. This is related to the size of the eyepiece lens on the binocular and size of the camera sensor. It also means any picture or video I shoot this way has reduced resolution by the zoom factor. Of course I can simply shoot at 1.0X and edit out the black around the view later.

4.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me
Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2021
Size: Regular SizeVerified Purchase
This mount didn't work for my combination of phone and binos. I use LGV20 phone and old soviet Tento BPC 20 x 50 binoculars.

It didn't work because there is no adjustment (on the mount itself) for how far from the ocular the phone camera will be located. The adjustment is intended to be had from where on the ocular tube you decide to clamp the mount. Where the ocular tube stretch available for mounting is limited (my case), this adjustment is then equally limited or nil.

As is, this mount places the my phone camera about 1/4 inch too far away from the ocular. I will have to thinker with it to try to remedy the situation.

The soft bumpers on the mount are made from just the packing quality stick on material, and do not withstand several repeating mounting attempts of a metal mount to a metal ocular tube, - bumpers start to show inelastic damage and peel off. The material used for bumpers was designed to provide a soft packing surface on an inside of a box, say for a phone, not an elastic collision damper for mounting two metal parts together! Mine therefore is visibly damaged and I don't want to return it this way since they will likely just send it to someone else, and we can't have them do that on Christmas.

Other things to note:

While judging from my prior research this mount (metal version) is the best available, it is not perfect.
Besides already mentioned issues there is also an issue of thumb wheels not providing an absolutely rigid hold. The hold is having some sort of slow sliding give, where I think you'll never achieve "once calibrated always ready" condition, - I think you'll always find it needing a small adjustment, the ocular will always be sliding off just a bit, like the moon in your telescope.

Another thing is that at least on my binoculars, there was not enough clearance between the ocular tubes and the binocular center hardware that shows in degrees the angle between the halves. I wasn't able to fit the mount on the ocular due to this interference - the mount frame was just too thick for this binoculars. I was able to attach it upside down at the angle, which would be OK, I guess, I would just have to be more inventive on how to set the tripod for the binoculars to end up with the phone being the right side up.

If your binocular can be mounted better than mine and it has an ocular tube sticking out farther from a binocular frame, so that you can use that available mounting range to adjust the camera to ocular distance, then may-be you should give this mount a try, - there a plenty of positive reviews.

For me, though, the fact that the stick on soft material is of an obviously wrong type and the fact that the knobs have no rigid hold, kind of kill the deal. I think I will just make my own, DIY mount.
