I use this in conjunction with a short handle and 12" round reflector both available on Amazon, to light my outdoor macro images. It is small... fits into a small belt pouch I wear, I use it as main light or as a backlight with 12" reflector main to achieve perfect lighting. I prefer it to flash as it is easier to see lighting effect. I use a tripod so slower shutter speeds are not a problem. You can adjust color temperature which is a nice feature at this price point. It has an internal rechargeable battery which is convenient. So buy this light add a handle and you are ready to explore the Macro world in your garden, park or flower nursey.

Brightness is great for short distances (the main reason why I purchased it), certainly not designed for distances beyond approx 8 feet even when using a very sensitive camera.
I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 mostly because the brightness control does not brighten & dim smoothly! Not happy about that. Also there should have been a separate on/off switch instead of on/off being shared with the brightness control.

This is a nice compact light, with decent colour temp adjustment.
It is bright, but 50% more brightness on max dial would greatly improve my experience.
The only real issue I have with this is that it is too compact - it needs more lift off the flash shoe on a DSLR, because any lens with a physical length >1.5" will create a dark spot in the center of your shot.
This light is also not great for video, you can notice obvious banding and flickering in video live view and playback.

I also use it with my Canon M50 camera vlogging rig. The light mounts on top of my Canon M50 and 80D as well. I created a video of me in a dark room only using the light and my face as a source for reference as to how well the light works. I give it an A+++. I also took pictures of the box the light came in also in a dark room. It definitely lightens everything up as it should.

I would like to have several of these as fill lights around the room while vlogging or making videos that’s how great they are.
