It would be accurate to describe this as a light microfiber blanket, and that isn't necessarily a problem. If shooting with a blurred background this functions pretty well. It doesn't have the density of canvas, and it doesn't suffer from the wrinkles of muslin, and it weighs very little.NOTE: To remove the wrinkles with an iron, iron the back, not the front or you can burn the fibers.It is light weight, and loose weave, so light can come through from behind. Being light weight, it doesn't hang well if it doesn't touch the ground, or you could attach something to the bottom to eliminate wrinkles.Lastly, the colour of the grey is purplish by about 10 points on rgb, see the attached image. This is almost far enough off to pose colour problems with skin. Almost. If wanting pure grey, then this is not for you.It wouldn't be fair to compare this to a hand painted canvas, but as an inexpensive option it is a great price.

Of course it will come folded with creases, but it smoothed out very easy on a low iron setting.
