Jethro Mobile has nationwide coverage in the United States (excluding Alaska). To check the coverage at your location, simply go to jethromobile.com and select "Coverage." Then enter an address (for more accuracy) or a zip code to see the coverage.

How do I activate my SIM card?

Activate anytime online at jethromobile.com or contact support 7 days a week (6AM-5PM PST). Activations can be scheduled up to 60 days in advance (and cancelled if your trip is rescheduled) or started immediately. Use a US address during activation.

Can I keep my phone number for a future trip?

Yes, we keep your phone number available for renewal for 45 days after your plan expires. Not traveling in the next 60 days? Add our starter plan to extend the amount of time for your next renewal.

Do these plans work while I'm still in Canada?

No, our service only works in the United States. However, we do offer unlimited calling from the States to Canada. Once you are in the States, insert your SIM card (if you haven't already), turn your phone off and back on again, and enjoy the service

This was inexpensive option for having cell phone access while outside Canada (in USA). We found this the last time we went south and it worked very well. It was easy to use and worked very well throughout our trip down I75 and also back I95, I77, I79 routes as well. They have many options and it is MUCH cheaper than options provided by Canadian phone companies. The biggest negative is that your Canadian contacts need US minutes or texts to contact you that way but they can sent you an internet message and you can get back to them as an option.

I bought this in Canada for a future road trip. So I wanted to schedule my activation for a couple weeks ahead. The information with the SIM is very limited and bit misleading on what you have to do. First of all, you need to create an account .... then ... go to the "activate" page and put in your information. If you are activating outside the U.S., under "Service Address" you will need to put in a U.S. address, preferably where you are going to stay. (I am camping, so I just picked the address of a business in the nearest town.) So, in the end, I did get activated OK, with a logical area code. I have not yet entered the U.S. and used the phone - so unless I edit this, it all works great. I was impressed with their timely customer service by email.

Arrived on time and easily installed in my cell phone. Make sure your phone in not locked to a Canadian source and check its compatibility on the Jethro website. Once you have arrived at your US destination, go on line, register, enter your phone's IMEI number to verify compatibility and then enter the SIM card verification code and done! So we purchased another for our upcoming trip to Washington state end of May. SIM card arrived overnight. Excellent delivery time. We had a bit of trouble registering online so decided to call and register. The associate was very helpful and got us up and running quickly. A confirmation email came in minutes providing our American phone number. We can share that now with family prior to leaving.

Bought it for a 7 days conference travel to San Diego (downtown area). My phone is a OnePlus 7T. I put in the sim card after arrival at the airport. They did not provide an ejector, so remember to bring a paperclip with you. After inserting the sim card, I used airport wifi to register/activate the sim on the webpage as instructed. Then I rebooted my phone and the card was ready. It did take around 15 minutes. Sim was largely stable throughout the trip. My phone actually showed LTE instead of 4G+ so that was great! Only when being at a blind spot for a long time then I lost connection for a while, but it generally recovered in a reasonable amount of time. In terms of performance, this card worked fine in my travel!
