Beefy
Pretty heavy-duty, I don’t anticipate any “flimsy” knob or assembly issues in my studio setup. (Don’t turn the knobs passed just-tight—no need to go further; there’s visible internal sleeves binding the joint, so no need to tighten to an extreme.)It’s beefy and supports a heavy Warm tube mic and not much floor noise travels beyond the rubber wheels; just love this stand.

Ultra Tank
Update...bought a second one and it is a Tank also... no issues with the locking parts yet. This one seems less well produced than my first one, The wheels do not thread well and i stripped the supplied tool trying to get them on properly. Also the main pole is a little crooked when screwed in fully. I may have gotten a refurb. The wheels looked used a little and the barcode next to the serial number has been ripped down the middle. ???? Aside from that it is a great stand.

This is a fantastic studio quality stand sturdy and well constructed. I would highly recommend this boom mic stand over any other currently on Amazon. I was certainly glad for the praise this mic stand received in prior reviews. A quality purchase I don’t regret for a moment.

I bought this heavy-duty stand for my studio. After installation, on the very first time adjusting it for the mic, the cheaply plastic made clutch broke.

Excellent construction and in use
Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2019Verified Purchase
Impressive stand for the price point. Note that premium stands go for $800 and up, low end below $100, so this sits at the 'better than cheap' and the design appears to live up to it. Note that another review about the main clutch joint being plastic is partially true, the base appears to be metal, but the clutch half is plastic. This isn't necessarily a negative, the designers have to balance cost and pricepoint, but I think the way to treat this stand is to be careful how you set it up. Make sure you have the boom arm balanced, and fortunately they give us plenty of options to manage this with the configurable and generous counterweight. In practice it's easy to do, and means you don't have to cinch the boom clutch too much.
Otherwise I have no negatives, it easily rolls over carpet and hard surfaces, has wheel locks, extends to a good height, is absolutely stable with the large cast iron base, and the fit and finish is excellent. For the price it's a bargain, just be considerate of your boom clutch and you should get many years of use out of it.

Great Stand, Built like a Sherman Tank
Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2015Verified Purchase
This thing is built like military surplus. It is a tank, very stable, the heavy movable counter weight makes it breeze to use with the heaviest microphone you can imagine and have it stay where you want it.. You could probably mount a medium size camera from it as well. My only complaint is the single mounting system. I had to buy and adapter to mount my small Rode directional mike. The tubing expands considerably which enables the stand to be used where smaller booms would not be large enough.
It was a choice between this stand and a less expensive stand and I think the extra money was worth it. If you are very small, this might be a bit difficult to horse around. It is heavy, but it is really built.

Supports U87 or C800-G w/o Issue
Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2021Verified Purchase
Arrived in good shape (despite Amazon delivery driver leaving it in the rain) and was quick & easy to setup. We've since used it with an RCA 77B, Neumann U87, and Sony C800-G. The C800-G is especially heavy, one of the most expensive mics out there, and very fragile; so we needed something stable with a boom that's able to suspend any of our mics upside over a vocalist. Normally we'd only use a much more expensive stand for such a task but we'd tested the display model at Guitar Center and wanted to give it a shot. It did not disappoint. I'm sure it'll wear more quickly than the expensive options and we'll move back to one of them for this task when that time comes (or maybe even just replace it with another Ultimate Support if it lasts long enough) but for now we're pleased.

Good Stand, Full Compass Systems is a Great Seller!
Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2021Verified Purchase
My stand arrived with a critical internal component that was cracked. It took awhile to get a replacement part, but Meagan from Full Compass Systems stuck with me and eventually got Ultimate to send me the replacement part I needed LONG after their obligations to me had passed. Thank you, thank you, thank you for going above and beyond!
Meanwhile the stand is nice and large and heavy-duty--especially the base. Works very well for what I'm doing.
