Specs:
Screen: (2.8") makes a difference for visually impaired. Comfy.
Picture: sharp and clear.
Sound:i very good.
Feel of it: good.
Shape: a bit awkward, because of the screen size.
Features: excellent.
Interesting: Linux O/S
Camera: ha ha ha ha - really? (I don't take pictures anyway.)
Missing: No flashlight on a phone meant for Seniors. Dumb oversight.
Missing: FM Radio. In a hospital/doctor waiting room, it's good to have.
Start-up: Slower than molasses.
Shut down: Faster than a hiccup.
Negative: Fingerprint magnet. Brand new out of the box, it came with fingerprints all over it. Why? Whose?
Atrocious: SIM card slot. Keep losing the cards, ultra tiny.
Delivery: Amazon Canada perfect. Right to my own door.
I so want to love this phone. And don't.
So, went back a ordered a new EasyFone with 4G which is not perfect either...
Dislikes: no manual, very difficult to open the back cover and you either damage your nails or the back cover, hence a very poor design and construction; no SOS button for the seniors that is serving.
Dislikes continued: the display of signal and battery could be larger.
Does the Ushing phone have a battery that can be purchased commercially or it is a proprietary battery from Ushing only?
It has most, if not all, of the typical and common functions and features that you might find on budget mobile phones including messages, call history, contacts, gallery, media player, camera, browser and so on. The apps are rather basic in natural but that's expected since this phone is rather basic with only 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage (expandable to 128GB if needed although I really don't see anyone would wanna do that).
Aside from the usual apps and whatnot, it does have a built-in GPS, Wi-Fi and BT that the cheaper alternatives don't always have. It has a decent screen size of 2.8" (TFT) but no touch screen so just keep that in mind since navigating using buttons isn't just old-fashioned but it's also tiresome in my mind. In addition, it features secondary external display that's about 1.77" in size.
Like most of these budget/basic phones it's equipped with a 2MP main camera but unfortunately it doesn't have a selfie camera. I don't have to tell you the quality of both of these is, well, pretty bad to put it mildly; however, they do serve the purpose of being a just-in-case or something-good-to-have kind of camera.
It has a rather small battery of 1400 mAh but that's actually not bad given the circumstance. It's actually slightly smaller than many others but it should still last for a few days based on the expected usage and/or use case (which should be close to none) of this particular phone. This would be a great secondary phone or even as a primary one who doesn't do a lot of reading because I do find the screen to be irritatingly (and tiresome) small after a while.
As aforementioned, it has a 2MP main camera and it's unlikely that the camera can be useful as a 'camera' by today's standard; however, it can still be used in an emergency situation of course provided that you're aware of its limitations (or when picture quality isn't a concern).
As a simple old-fashioned flip phone, this is more than adequate; however, I do find the navigation buttons a bit difficult (or at least not as easy as expected) to use because they are too close to each other and/or the round ENTER button at the center. Oh well, perhaps I just need some, practice.
≡ Value
All things considered, this is a somewhat decent (albeit very basic) flip mobile phone with basic apps and features as one would expect; however, it's a bit pricey at $126 for what it provides and its overall futures, usability, versatility, and performance. I've come across about a dozen of these non-smart mobile phones (for seniors or whatnot) and this is amongst some of the least capable ones at this price range and there are certainly many other options and/or alternatives out there if you care to shop around. Your mileage might vary.
I stumbled on this phone one day and decided we should try it out. It really harkens back to the early 2000s. It's very much that style of flip phone, but with a bigger screen, better camera, bluetooth and wifi... No touch screen and no keyboard. But some nice big buttons on the keypad.
Set up was simple. To test, I just threw in my Telus SIM card and it connected to the network no problem. I programmed in a few contacts and assigned them to the numbers on the keypad. All my family member needs to do to is hold down a button until it dials that person. To answer calls, he can flip it open, or if it's open, press any button. To end calls, just close it. It's about as simple as it gets. Call quality is clear on both ends, though because of some mobility issues, we're experimenting with all calls going straight to speakerphone (there's a setting for that).
We're quite satisfied with this phone, especially at the price point. We'll be able to finally cancel our landline, and give our family member more independence and more security, by being reachable and able to reach us wherever he is.

I cannot return the phone to seller as I broke the Micro CD card caddy while trying to insert my 16GB nano memory card. If one brakes an item on a retail shelf, one now owns that broken item. I broke it, I own it.
The T9 Input brought back memories of college, where I was the fastest texter in the west. The big buttons are a godsend for my sausage fingers, and the Dual Screen is like having a cinema in my pocket.
The WiFi is strong enough to download my favorite cat videos, and the Voice Function makes me feel like I’m in a sci-fi movie. Perfect for both seniors who want simplicity and kids who want to feel like secret agents.
In conclusion, the USHINING 4G Unlocked Flip Phone is the perfect blend of nostalgia and technology. It’s not just a phone, it’s a conversation starter!
It's very slow to start up. It has wifi and bluetooth, and there are menu options for wireless hotspot as well. The buttons are all backlit nicely with large fonts and are very clear and easy to read. The button presses feel nice.
Removable battery and that's where the SIM card goes as well, behind that battery back cover. It's a pretty typical flip-dumb-phone with branding that I've never heard of.
The camera DOES NOT WORK at all. The app won't even open, neither from internal menu diving, or it's hot-button. It acts like it's about to go into camera-mode, then immediately reverts back to the Home Screen. I've tried everything, even read through the entire manual. There's a lens and a Camera Icon, but nothing works. Weird.
