Great compact sling bag!
4 out of 5 stars
Great compact sling bag!
This is a great product and a very fair price! The good:- Has enough space for a smaller camera/body and a couple lenses. (Full size DSLR is not ideal at all.)- The arrangement of pockets and strap makes sense. Some other designs they overlap and get in the way of each other, but this is a good layout.- I like the inside pockets for extra security, and the outer end pockets for quick access items without exposing gear to elements or prying eyes in crowded areas; they actually expand on elastic which is neat.- The Velcro is very strong, I was worried about how secure it would be for my camera/gear but I’m not concerned at all now I feel it for myself.- The straps/loops for a tripod, carabiners etc. are good for carrying extra stuff but not so many that you’d overload the bag.- The shoulder strap pad is high quality with rubberized face for grip which I was surprised at. The strap itself is easily adjustable.- Material seems tough and looks good, stitching is clean, not doubled up in many areas decent. What could improve:- I wish they included another divider.. or offered another divider type (this one is shorter and wider than preferred), or had optional additional dividers. One just doesn’t cut it when you’re trying to keep a small pack optimized. A large pack is easy to let things float a bit; but it can get awkward and uncomfortable quick with this, mainly because you can’t store filters etc. in the pockets without it bulging a lot in the middle.- Once loaded the outer-most large slip pocket is almost useless. This is related to the lack of a second/third divider, but the pocket isn’t very secure regardless and I’m not sure what it would really be used for.. much of anything thin enough to go in there would likely get damaged from being bent.- Being picky, the side panel between the main flap and front of the bag makes access a bit awkward. They could have been a bit more open but it’s not a big deal, they do well to close up the gap from the side I guess. The BAD:- Big gripe of mine is the clip on the strap. This is actually pretty dumb. It’s not a stiff clip at all and could easily unlatch on you if you grab the strap.. which you obviously will. If it was located at the bag it kinda makes sense but being at the shoulder pad is just asking for an accident. I wish they included an adjustable webbing buckle that doesn’t detach so you can choose. Just a plastic one, a couple cents on the price, would be a wonderful thing. The saving grace is it’s removable, so I’ll look for an alternative at a climbing store likely.Overall, very impressed with this and the pricing is the same as direct shipping from the alternative massive online market this is no doubt sourced from. It fits my gear well in terms of size, looks good for a black bag and seems like it will last longer than my ability to be content with the gear I need it for. I think 4 stars is fair given how close it is to perfect, but how the last couple decisions in design/accessory packaging for sale, just miss the mark enough I have to rectify them myself.

The outershell material is tough nylon while still comfortable to wear on. I managed to squeeze in one larged-sized mirrorless body, two medium sized lenses, one V mount battery, one small powerbank, one 5" monitor, one mic plus a few gadgets. It made a tight fit and I had to take off the mounted lens to save space. Because I also used it for housing the parts ( rod clamp, rods, handle, follow focus, etc ) of a hand-held rig, the bag could not keep a tight seal. The front part ( closure ) of the bag has a large area with velcro sewed on so I figure that a velcro flap will complete a secure closure. However I do not recommend overdoing it; otherwise it probably will end up losing its shape and make it hard to wear snuggly on the body therefore losing its main purpose ( unless you intend to ).

Just to show photos: two mirrorless cameras with longer lenses will fit nicely in this bag. The velcro front flap closes securely with the 2 cameras. Flap can adjust to a more compact setting for less bulky contents. There are numerous pockets in side to accommodate extra batteries, a cell phone, wallet etc. The material also seems sturdy enough to carry this much all these gear for an all day hike.

Love this thing, it's great for a camera with zoom lens and one additional lens. And it holds by ulanzi tripod perfectly as well!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bag is great for cameras or random everyday items for school or work.

Ive had the bag for a few days now and I am enjoying it very much. It is a camera bag but I myself do not own any cameras but I use it for note books my water bottle and EDC. The buckled straps are perfect for holding a tripod or anything that can be strapped in a similar manner as you can see I use it to hold my jacket because the weather fluctuates a lot where I'm from. Perfect bag for light camping trips or just biking and taking some food and a blanket with you. (Complaint) The side pockets that seem to be for a water bottle are not big enough for most water bottles and even if you manage to fit a water bottle in it the bottle will not stay because the material of the fabric is too slick any bottle that isn't silicone slides right out. I recommend getting a clip to attach to the bag and a bottle you can attach to the clip. Or get a super flexible water bottle that you can put in the main compartment. The divider helps a ton with keeping my bottle off to the side.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a comfortable, but somewhat limited bag

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
This bag is a nice size. It's perfect for a limited amount of gear. Right now, mine has a Nikon FE with a 50mm lens and a 85mm lens, plus a few rolls of film. I could put another small lens in there, but I don't think I could comfortably accommodate much more than that. I could see using it for my Rolleiflex, or for my Leica kit. It would be nice if it had a few more compartments for things like filters, SD cards, film, close-up filters, and so forth. The ability to strap on a tripod is nice. There are some strange design decisions though. What on earth are the elastic bits in the front meant for? For the life of me, I'm not sure what they're supposed to secure. Also, the other reviewers are spot on... the velcro is too grippy and becomes a bit of a problem. I do like the bag enough that I'm inclined to see if I can find a way to decrease the velcro. (Maybe Ulanzi will take the hint from ThinkTank and provide away to 'mask' the velcro for when you need to be silent.) I'm also not a fan of the typography. Ulanzi... get yourself a decent graphic designer! But I do like it, I think I'm just going to have to 'hack' it a bit to make it work for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big fan of this bag by Ulanzi

Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
As I continue to come across and use various Ulanzi photography accessories, I continue to be impressed and a big fan of the brand. Until now, I haven't tried one of Ulanzi's bags yet, as I've got a lot of bags already. But I've hit a point where I needed a small to medium-sized sling bag that could hold my Canon R6m2 + 28-70 f2 + cage, as well as the ability to hold other accessories such as batteries, microfiber cloths, my phone, sunglasses, etc. The Ulanzi sling camera bag does just all that. The cover is both stiff and flexible, and as such, can be a little difficult to use/smooth out for appearances. But, bypassing looks, the bag itself is very functional, and the ability to expand slightly (due to the velcro wall), I found myself using this bag more and more. It was my go-to bag for travelling around in Japan and Taiwan as it was able to hold my camera in addition to adapting to holding my personal effects, my girlfriend's items, and even some shopping items. The exterior loops are great for holding tripods, umbrellas, rolled up coats, etc. The MOLLE webbing is great for attaching accessories such as carabiners to hook hats on. It's a very functional and adaptable bag. My only minor gripe is how the sling pad works. This is difficult to explain, but bear with me. The sling pad is a separate piece that wraps around the sling with velcro, but as the sling can be adjusted, the thickness can vary since you now have a tail end doubling over. So if you adjust the pad to fit the part of the sling without the tail, it won't easily slide over the part of the sling that's doubled with the tail. Even if you adjust the pad for the extra thickness, in my experience, it still doesn't slide over well and is more prone to pushing the tail around instead. Ultimately, my solution is to maximize my adjustment on the bag side, minimize my adjustment on the sling pad side, and to fold it over multiple times to keep it as close to the bag/buckle side to avoid running into the sling pad whenever I reposition the bag from back, side, or front.

The style and design of the bag is really nice. However on receiving it it proved to be a little bit smaller than I was expecting. Plus the strap was not separate from the bag itself. Where it's sewn to the bag should have been actually buckles. Additionally, I think that there should have been an additional pocket on the inside, specifically for cables and adapters. Other than that, bag does wonders for small carry-on items. Haven't had to use my camera on it but then again I can only imagine that I'd be fumbling with it as well.
