Introduces cross-talk high-pitched noise
I wanted to separate my headphone and mic signals from my all-in-one stereo/mic headphone cable in order to make the sound go through my DragonFly Red DAC whilst still using the mic from my laptop's internal jack to record my voice during conference calls.This cable seemed to be the right solution but after many tests and with different setups, I'm unable to rid a constant high-pitched hum which gets introduced when connecting the mic-end of the splitter into the internal laptop jack. Important to note that this sound is not generated when connecting the headphone cable directly into either the internal jack or in the DragonFly Red DAC. In fact, the noise only happens when the mic end of the cable is connected which leads me to believe that there's cross-talk between the splitter's wires.Otherwise, the build quality is decent and the splitter seems like it could withstand some light abuse.
