We take our time because we know some things can’t be rushed

Quality takes time and patience. At Tully’s, the same holds true for creating great coffee. It takes a lot of time and patience, which is why we roast our coffee beans to gently coax out the complex flavors and aromas. With roots in the Pacific Northwest, where coffee is a way of life, we take our time in roasting and training each master roaster in our artisanal approach. From the aroma to the full-bodied flavor, you can taste the time taken in every satisfying cup of Tully’s coffee. Now we invite you to take your time discovering it.

The Art of the Slow Roast

Take roasting marshmallows, for example. Some people will shove theirs directly into an open fire, immediately creating a charred ball of flame. That’s one approach, but it’s not ours. We’d rather turn our marshmallow slowly over a low ember until it’s evenly browned and caramelized throughout. The same can be said of coffee. Tully’s distinctive coffees are created slowly over a lower temperature. Our slow roast approach allows us to focus on the sights, smells, and sounds that indicate we’ve captured just the right flavors at just the right moment. That’s when we pull our coffee out of the fire. When Tully’s coffee beans are treated with this kind of patience, the result is even development and rich, full flavors in the cup. It takes a little longer, and requires an artist’s touch, but the difference is revealed with every sip.

I will preface by saying that I am not an overall fan of K-cup coffee. I am a bit snobby (at least I admit it) when it comes to coffee. I've tried many different "dark roast" K-cups and this is by far the best.

It is very consistent cup-to-cup and has a great taste. It is smooth with a good flavor without the harsh acidic taste you sometimes get from darker coffees (read. starbucks). Even some of the coffee drinkers in the office that enjoy the lighter coffees, tend to like the Italian Roast from Tully. It's a good one!

I like a more robust flavored coffee and try a few different ones. This Tullys Italian Roast consistently delivers. The breakfast blend and French Roast is also a good choice. If it is too strong you an always choose a larger cup size on your brewer. The taste is comparable to what I would purchase out shopping for a nice pick me up.
