The 100 dollar TH8S is a perfect match for the Wheel/triple Pedal set (T248). I was not expecting such an easy set up, and such excellent operation of this shifter! 100 OUT OF 100 score.
Climbed into a 1970 Challenger and took it out for a spin.
Depressed the clutch and hit the throttle -- engine rev and no drive train action, exactly what it should do. WOW! I then stopped the muscle car, put it into 1st gear and without any throttle, quickly released the clutch. Stall! Exactly what it would do in real life!
The T248 LED read-out works perfectly with this shifter. Everything together works superbly.
The car had no 5th gear and so when I tried 5th gear on the shifter it didn't show GEAR 5 on the T248's mini display (read-out). Awesome.
Build quality is great. I appreciate the short stem on the shifter. Very ergo-dynamic. Easy to secure to any platform. Very well designed. As a side note, I am a Vine Voice member of Amazon, but I paid full price for the T8HS. So what I say is not influenced by having been offered any discount.
Recommended, of course. Compared to the original Thrustmaster Shifter, costing 2.5 times as much as this shifter, I would say you get great value for the dollar. If you like driving manual, with a good ol' fashion floor shifter, you gotta get this baby! Immersion, Nostalgia ..... Awesome!
