Surprisingly great.
This no-name RGB light bulb was actually full of surprises. I'll list out some of the things I liked:- Quality resembles my branded bulbs- Requires an app "Surplife" to configure but does not need a user account to use- You can connect the device by Wifi or Bluetooth. I chose the latter since I don't trust it yet on my IOT network.- Granular color control via color wheel in app, and brightness is adjustable which allows for dimming even if your light switch doesn't support it.- Brightness is excellent at 100%.- It has a ton of built-in scenes such as victory, forest, colorful and lightning which look awesome at night in their own way.- It remembers its setting even after you turn off and turn on the light bulb.- It has a music mode where the lighting effect can "dance" to the beat.- It supports smart routines like turning off at sunrise and turning on at sunset. Note that smart routines need both location permission and wifi access.- Google Assistant, Alexa, and Mi Ai integration support.Things that aren't so good:- Questionable safety certification. Product has a Japanese PSE mark that is not recognized by the Standards Council of Canada.- App has low rating of 3.8 on Google Play.- It asks for Location permission when you first add the device, even though it isn't necessary for basic bluetooth operation.- The music modes don't seem to sync to the music that well.- Music mode requires both storage and microphone permissions.- It uses an internal music player for local files and does not work with something like Spotify or Youtube Music.- The microphone mode crashes the app. This mode is for the light bulb to dance to the music your phone hears.Overall, I think there is a lot to like from these light bulbs. They are highly customizable via the app and the bulbs work well lighting wise. While I do have reservations against it (as summarized above), it's still workable provided you are careful with permissions and you don't care about the music modes.

I have gotten very accustomed to the convenience of smart lights in my house, and these are a nice addition to my system. I have them installed into overhead lights in my garage, and they are motion-controlled through an Amazon Echo device I have out there, so when I walk in, the lights turn on and then turn off again when I leave. The possibilities are endless with this technology. These bulbs are a great price if you are looking to add more smart lights or just want to try them out.
