I have been buying M.2 drives made by Samsung for the last 3-4 years and was never disappointed. My oldest drives are still working perfectly and the speeds are more than enough for my needs. I can't compare these drives with drives from other companies but I am quite sure that there are other great M.2 drives out there but I would definitely recommend Samsung M.2 drives for reliability and good performance.

It's a samsung drive, you're getting what you pay for with the EVO line. Not the fastest or the cheapest, but very reliable and hits the advertised read and write speeds no problem. The drive only has one NAND chip on it most likely a cost saving measure, but it does work fine.

The 990 evo is a blazing fast m.2 drive. I had bought it as the main/boot drive of the pc i was building and its perfect. While shes not super into gaming or computers in general, this drive loads fast, boots up the games she does play in about 3 seconds (stuff like fortnite, minecraft, roblox, terraria ect.) And with the 1tb version she has more than enough space for all her important documents, photogtaphy work, and art projects without impacting the speed of the drive whatsoever.
In all honesty the only thing that really bogs down this drive is the price point, if it was just ever so cheaper I would consistently recommend it to everyone i know who needs the kinda read and write speeds it gives out, as for now though It sits 1st place for fastest drive ive used and 2nd best for price to performance.

Despite my motherboard having an M.2 form slot / NVMe slot, the technology was brand new at the time I built my computer, meaning this device is incompatible. I installed a larger drive in another computer and it's a very fast drive / interface, good for gaming and cutting down on load screens.
