Tums have been my go-to for years
I’ve been using Tums for years and while they’re not perfect, they’re definitely the best antacid on the market. I’ve tried every other reasonably priced chewable antacid in Quebec and they always taste worse, have worse texture and don’t work as well. Tums don’t always help if my acid is really bad (like insanely bad), but most of the time they do the trick.The texture is overall good. A bit chalky, as all antacids are, but less so than other brands. I usually buy the fruit flavour, so I was interested to try the ‘smoothies’ fruit. I have previously tried the ‘berry’ smoothies and didn’t like them. I found the fruit smoothies were pretty nice.The smoothie flavour is a little different from the regular Tum fruit flavours, it’s more of a mix as opposed to a straight fruit flavour. For example, instead of yellow being lemon, it’s like a pineapple fruit mix flavour. I found these were softer than the regular tums and the flavours were more mild. I’m used to the flip-top cap and prefer that to this pull-off cap.One thing I didn’t like was I felt these left a lot of dust in the bottle. For those who like to suck rather than chew the tums, these dissolve much faster.Overall, I still prefer the regular fruit flavour, but would fully recommend Tums in any format, since they’ve always worked well for me. It was nice to try a different flavour!
