I wanted a basic lightweight pair of phones for my original music recording. I replaced a pair of more expensive Dr Beats phones as they were old and had 'treated bass' and un-natural low end. These phones are closer to the frequencies my 'flat' Audio Technica phones put out ,so in other words while recording and monitoring through these I don't have a lot left to mix when I get to that stage .These are very comfortable and look nice .The only thing I would watch is the cable is thin so don't pull on it hard and it should last you a few years at least .Good valie for money

Really great sound on these. Essentially just as good as any other lower end Sony product -Excelent. Decent Bass, good clear mids and highs. Comfy to wear for 2 hours or so, and then my ears want a little break. Only downside is that its about as delicate as a fabrochet egg compared to other headphones I've used, including past Sony products from 10+ years ago. But as long as you don't throw them up against a wall and handle them with care, you should be good.

Audiophile snobs would up their nose at it, but if you're looking for the best sounding headphones you can get at this price, you've come to the right place. They satisfy me plenty.
