Avoid this $199.99 booster for Telus Mobility
I live 5 minute walk from 3 Rogers 6band and 2band ,Shaw Mobile single band , Freedom Mobile 3g 2band , Fido 3G 2band but Sadly Telus has not been upgrading in adding more towers in the lower mainland especially Burnaby Kingsway Middlegate corridor.this $199.99booster doesn not work for cities like Burnaby and is garbage. trust me dont buy it!below is the review for the new $399.99 SolidRF booster.I live exactly between the distance of two Telus towers 3.5km each direction.*In my home I was getting barely 1bar to zero without Booster and 1bar outside. After install I get solid 4 bars in (living room ) where the grey amplier box is located and only get 3 bar upstairs exactly above in the master bedroom that's exactly above the box .*Sadly the $199.99solidRF item output is very very week . I'd go with their new dec 2020 $399.99 box instead of the $199.99*The $199.99 White unit is very hot . I traded after two weeks usage for the new $399.99for whole house, this $199.99 unit is too weak. Also I don't recommend for Rural or the countryside. I don't recommend for RV or Cottage. For those installation you need at 50ft tower minimum over the trees. This unit came with a white 60ft regular TV coxial cable , the same as your cable TV provider like Shaw & Rogers offers. We were with Rogers and had drop calls and we thought going to Telus would be better. Holy FK where we wrong! Telus is worse. All my neighbours are with Fido. Fido only uses 3G towers from Rogers. 3G can go farther but it's data speeds are very slow to Rogers LTE. Just so you know LTE is 4G. It's a modern4G system. 5G will only be available 2028 across Canada and currently 2020-2021 is only found one or two places in downtown Vancouver and Toronto only. I use Bell for my work at 911 aka ECOMM911 as a power engineer. I wanted to go to Bell for my wife and I but their EPP corporate and regular plans are extremely expensive in British Columbia as they piggy bank on other wireless providers.If your on Bell Aliant and Bell Canada you most less likely need a Booster. For Telus you will definitely need a Booster.* This booster does not do 5G sadly.This booster does 4 radio band but lacks important channel 2. and the other boosters like the $399.99 does 5 radio band. If your using TMobile Verizon , ATT, Smart,Globe, Digicel from other countries I'd (recommend not this $199.99booster).My EPP plan is $50 unlimited calls/Text with 20gb monthly no contract, This booster was and is tested with Pixel3 , Samsung 9 , Umidigi A7pro , Umidigi X and IphoneXS .Sadly all the cellphones devices needed their settings to be in the advance wireless calls done thru the WiFi Calling feature to get HD calls.*The $199.99 Booster was not capable to give HD quality calls .-Booster gets 1.5 out 5 for connectivity .- Gets 5 for installation easiness- 2.5 out if 5 for bad overpricing-Bad 1.5 out if 5 for boosting signal thought my small duplex home.This is my first Booster so I can compared it to something else like the $399.99 by SolidRF . But in desperation I bought this unit. I traded for a better unit that end up more expensive. sadly Telus motto their future is Not Friendly!Telus =tel us all about it! And ijust did.Now waiting for Rogers $45 get you back Deal with 25gb.

I was starting to think boosters were snake oil. I get 2 bars of service if I'm lucky and messages take 3 to 10 minutes to send. Booster went up easy, i pointed the antenna, clicked it on and boom 5 bars. I can even stream youtube. Excellent product thanks so much!

I bought this product to use at our cottage. I could only get 1 bar of bell lte service there which resulted in dropped calls and near impossible browsing of the web or use of apps. My goal was to have a good enough data signal to be able to work from the cottage. When I did a speed test on my phone I'd get less than 1Mbps
I did a temporary install of this device as I plan to use it in my rv as well and want to be able to take it with me. I plan to buy a portable satelite stand with extension pole to mount it on and leave just the rg6 cable installed at my cottage and get a second length of it to take in the rv.
During install i used the apps they suggested which showed no cell towers covering my area. So I was not sure where to point it. I used an app called open signal to show the tower I was currently connected to this helped me to direct it. The whole install took maybe half an hour.
After install i was able to get 5 bars within about a 10 foot radius of the booster. As I moved to other rooms id get 3-4 which was still great. Outside the building it did decrease quite a bit to 1-2 but I was ok with that which is why I bought this smaller unit.
The second test i did was an lte data speed test. Using the Ookla website i tested my speed on my cell phone and was getting over 30 Mbps which was 30 times what id had before! This was a major difference! I then hot spotted my phone to create a wifi network in the cottage. If I left my phone near the booster I was able to consistently get speeds greater than 20 mbps on my laptop (see image). The wifi hot spot had a much bigger range then the cell signal so I was able to enjoy speeds of over 5mbps even 50 feet outside of the building which has made working at the cottage much easier !
I highly recommend this product! I was in a near dead zone with no mapped towers and it worked great! I would suggest if you want broader coverage to consider the more powerful indoor antenna version as the range is not that big. (was not important for my use)
