I got this pair of earbuds on Black Friday special at $39.99. Honestly, at its regular price $60, no way I would have purchased it. But even getting this at a discounted price, overall, I am a little disappointed with this earbud. Read below all the PROs /CONS. Overall, it is the sound quality a deal breaker for this earbud, all the extra neat features simply cannot make up for the lack of sound quality, the main function of an earbuds is for listening afterall.Even after tuning the EQ to its best with the Skullcandy app, the sound is still not nearly as good as another random earbud brand (Nypots - A10) which I also purchased at $39CDN (regular price), unfortunately cannot find this brand and model on Amazon anymore, and this other pair even have a decent Active Noise Cancelation (ANC) & an ambient mode which actually works (amplifing the surrounding so that u can hear what's around you), the A10 Nypots earbud even comes with wireless charging! IP55 rating, good battery life (even though that earbuds doesn't have tile or app support), all these major features are there for a $39 earbuds! When Skullcandy Mod costs $60 for a less quality earbuds, something doesn't add up.PROs:- Earbuds' ergonomic is good and light weight, comfortable to wear even for a long period of time.- The earbuds' buttons are easy to click (they are physical buttons, covered by a soft rubber membrane on top)- IP55 rating.- Both the earbuds and charging case have a good minimalist look.- Battery life is great, exactly as advertised (7hrs playtime and additional 34hrs from the charging case), earbuds battery doesn't drain much while connected and let idle without sound on. It really can play 7hrs worth of sound & music.-Quick charging time even just charging the earbuds with the case, takes just 30mins to fill up to 60% level.- With "Tile" support, helps locating the earbuds when they are lost.- Some settings, EQ functions, status information and customizable Left & Right buttons through Skullcandy's app. (iOS & Android).CONs:- The sound quality is not good, sound came out pretty flat, lacking bass and no depth. The sound does come out clear and crisp though. It is fine if you just want to use it listening to podcasts or talk shows, but for music or even movies, this set of earbuds performs like a $20 Earbuds.-There is an EQ function within the Skullcandy app, however, because the sound of the earbuds is inherently bad, all existing EQ pre-set, Music, Movie are doing a horrible job to enchanted the sound quality. Even though there is a customizble EQ, it doesn't really improve the overall sound quality by much. The only relatively acceptable EQ setup is to push the Bass (60&250hz) all the way to top, Mids & Highs(1kz, 4kz, 12kz) nearly all the way down.-No Active noise cancellation (ANC)-The so-called, "Stay awake mode", makes no differences whether it is ON or OFF (it's suppose to amplify ur surrounding sound to let u hear what's going on around you, similar to ambient mode)-No wireless charging-Need to turn on Location(GPS) and allow all time access to the Skullcandy app to work and able to connect to the earbuds!? Why do u need GPS location service be on just to connect an earbud that's right nearby my phone? What are you tracking, Skullcandy? The track and find my earbuds function only ties with a seperate app with "Tile", which I need to launch seperately, that app I understand it requires location service to help track/find my earbuds, but just to customize the EQ, displaying my earbuds battery, etc, requires turning on location service? Why?????
