Great for Writing, too thin for colouring.
This is a very nice set. I do which there was a pink though instead of the lighter purplish colour. (Just personal taste, I wouldn't take off a star for that)The caps are quite tight to get on and off. A young child might need help. The colours match up quite well with the lids (picture included!) Also, after I did the colour test I flipped over the paper and took a photo of that too so that you can see how much leaks through to the other side. You can see it but it doesn't really bleed much other than a tiny dot where the marker first touches and leaves the paper. This was done on normal computer printer type paper. It would possibly bleed more on something thinner.At first I thought it felt a bit rough writing with them, they aren't as smooth as gel pens are, but that's to be expected and it got smoother the more I wrote with them (which wasn't much. Some colours were smoother than others. The brown and dark blue were great but the light green and light purple were a bit rougher).The tips are very fine which makes them terrific for writing. I don't think I'd use them for adult colouring books though, they might be too fine a tip even for that, so despite the nice colour selection, I would get only for writing/labelling things. Right now I'm using them to write the letters of the alphabet on a piece of paper for my toddler to find etc. Having a nice range of colours is really fun for that. You could possibly use them for drawing if you didn't need something a bit thicker, just not the colouring in. And the yellow is a bit too light. You can see it, but darker would have been better against white paper. (I don't think it'd show up on dark paper at all, it' not like a neon or thick liquid chalk pen that looks bright against dark)
