No wasting bags
I just got the Shark Rocket HV300 stick vacuum this week. My old stick vacuum broke and my golden retriever is in full shedding mode so I needed a replacement stat.Pros: I like the way the brush head swivels and makes it easier to turn. The being able to switch from hard floor mode to carpet mode with a flick of my thumb is great! I have a different vacuum that uses bags but the dog hair fills it up so quickly I was going through a bag per use. The cord is super long and I'm we to do my entire basement without having to unplug it!Cons: the canister isn't that big so it fills up with dog hair pretty quickly. I wish the dust cup could be removed and washed because it's already quite dusty, I'll probably have to wipe it out with a damp cloth every once in a while. I also wish the power cord could be unplugged from the motor so that I don't have to unplug and gather up all the cord everytime I need to empty the dust cup. I also am a little disappointed at how bulky the clip is where the wand connects to the roller head. I wanted a stick vacuum that reaches easily under our beds but the clip just barely fits under so it doesn't run smoothly under our beds. If the clip had been at the side or the back it wouldn't have been an issue. These are minor things but something to keep in mind.I tested the vacuum on my basement carpet, which is about 1000sqft. The first time around I had to empty the dust cup about 5-6 times. Then I did a second pass over the carpet and what you see is what collected in the second pass. So only about one cup full on the second pass, not bad.So far I am happy with this vacuum

This thing is powerful! I’m happy with the fact that it has a cord and not a battery that only lasts 30 minutes like the Dyson. I’ve used the Dyson stick before, and this is comparable, but the shark is slightly heavier which honestly is not an issue. I know Dyson just came out with one that now lasts an hour on one charge, but that’s still not good enough for the 3x the price. I was purposely looking for something that is slim and not battery operated like my Roomba and can get into every nook and cranny, especially with a cat in the house. I mulled it over for a few months to do some research and ultimately decided on the Shark Rocket. So happy with this purchase!!
First picture is after only doing half of one bedroom after the Roomba tried to do its part (omg disgusting what was left behind)
Second picture is of filter locations, not only is there a filter for the normal vacuum section but also a filter for the outgoing air so nothing is blown back into your home or face. All washable! Third picture is how little room it takes up in the closet, stores nicely and perfect for my apartment. I’ll be keeping it when moving to a house since it’s nice to have handy on whichever floor.
*UPDATE: just moved to a 4bed/4bath house, this thing outdoes the Kenmore central vac and it’s so much simpler to move around the house up and down stairs with ease. The central vac is annoyingly clunky to drag around like a freaking anaconda on my back now that I’ve had the simplicity of the shark rocket. 100% happy I bought this vacuum.
*Update: Bought this vacuum for my workplace and it’s great for vacuuming from ceilings to every nook and cranny in the store! (Last photo, one swipe cleaned off the tile)
