There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
The pieces snap easily together AND come apart easily. The head doesn't swivel all over hell's half acre, and I was a bit concerned about the weight, but with the vacuum doing most of the moving, it was a rather enjoyable experience. And it LITERALLY untangled my long hair from the beater bar, and there it was, in the easy to empty refuse cup. I'm not quite sure what the regular bare floor setting is all about, but the motor slows down, so I just kept it on the carpet setting, and it did brilliantly.
It's also quite quiet, and I didn't even consider that when I bought it. I wanted a cordless vacuum that can run for at least 20 minutes on high suction, that didn't fall down every time I propped it against something, didn't leave a mess for me to untangle on the beater bar, and didn't frustrate me to death trying to put it together and take it apart. I made the investment because I have two pain disorders that are disabling, and I wanted vacuuming to be an easy, no thought chore that didn't force me to lie down for 45 minutes afterwards or pop pain killers.
I've used a Dyson. I can't afford a Dyson. But in real life, I honestly don't need my vacuum to have THE BEST EVER SUCTION ON THE PLANET. What for? This picks up the dirt, the cat fur, and my own hair from carpet and bare floor alike, it has great maneuverability, and I have no idea how long it takes to recharge because I don't vacuum every day, so I don't care.
The bonus? It was refurbished so I got it at a shockingly great price (an itsy bitsy tiny nick on the top of the beater bar casing that I had to go looking for to find). I recommend it if all they say is that it has a cosmetic defect.
If you don't have the disposable income needed to afford a Dyson, I'd recommend this vacuum. I really was prepared to be disappointed again (so many vacuums tried, so many failed), but Shark has pleasantly surprised me (which is the sedate way of saying I'm doing a crazy happy dance in my head).
I am removing 1 star as the battery life is a little below what I hoped, it can not stand on its own and does not come with an attachment to hang the vacuum in the closet.
Overall, I like this vacuum and I am glad I bought it. Given its price point and the quality of the product, I do recommend it.
I've been too lazy to write any reviews, until I logged in.
I purchased this because I was fed up with all the time lost just lugging around wired vacuums.
I guess many years back, it was hard finding a portable vacuum with HEPA in it.
[I was looking for a portable vacuum that is NOT Dyson (they almost got me), after reading up on their worker violations and all that drama in Malaysia, and being too slow to act on it.]
So THIS is the best affordable alternative.
If you want a strong vacuum AND easier portability, I believe the Shark Vertex Pro would be the one, but it would cost me like 600-800-ish.
I have a small space, so I don't need THAT kind of power.

I chose this Shark IZ162HC Shark Rocket Pet Pro, because of the price, and the fact that it's portable and HEPA.
After a few days of initial usage and charging, I believe the battery capacity....seems like it increased, because instead of having only 20 mins of usage, I've been getting around 35-45 in one cycle. But...YMMV. I have no complaints.
Suction will never compare to to wired vacuums or Shark Vertex Pro, but hey, you could "pull the trigger" on this machine and it'll increase suction power, matching the wired vacuums (or almost? I really can't confirm, but hey, my floors still come out clean and dustless overall)
Maneuverabilty: I PERSONALLY have no problems with it (since I hold heavy or heavy-ish things directly with my hands, like SOME swords for instance), but however, for seniors, or people with issues in their hands (I don't remember the right words for it); it might be an issue. Only because the vacuum's main unit, where all the weight is concentrated, is being held by our hands directly. If you compare this to the Shark Vertex Pro, the main unit (where all the weight is pretty much) is NOT being held directly by the hand, but is set near the floor, and being controlled by a stick from higher elevation from a user, like some stick vacuums , for easier maneuverability.
I got long hair, and I shed a lot due to stress. Compared to all my previous vacuums owned, this one deals with hair VERY well. Vacuum just sucks them up, doesn't get them stuck anywhere. When emptying the dust bin, hair just ALL effortlessly falls in the bin. *MEOW*
--------------
I've had this unit since around the end of June. And I've been very content with it.
So for price, performance, and HEPA. This is the one.
Also, anyone seeking to buy this unit WITH THE HEPA, make sure you ARE buying the
Shark Rocket *PET PRO* MODEL IZ162HC (Canadian Variant).
I noticed there's a "Shark Rocket Pro IZ140C", that unit is NOT the same as the IZ162HC.
IZ140C, DOES NOT HAVE HEPA.
I'm too lazy to attach any pictures. So I'll attach my particle tester results. I get all PERFECT zero readings from 0.3 microns to 2.5 microns. When placing the tester near this vacuum unit. It is exactly what I've been looking for. A sign of a REAL HEPA
(You could get these particle testers on Banggood for like 20 CAD or less I think. I don't remember, but great deals there)
EDIT X 1: I FORGOT to mention, there's a Youtube channel called "Vacuum Wars". One of THE most informative channel on Vacuum comparison tests and what have you not. You could look up this particular model. The host did a smoke test, to test out the HEPA; that convinced me firsthand to get this product. He'll do other tests and other live tests on specs. You'd be seeing actual numbers for "suction power" and all that other stuff too. I forgot all the data, otherwise I'd be sharing.
But yeah, check that channel out to get some actual data on this particular model, and how it compares to other popular portable vacuums out there
