Due to its high directivity, the MKE 600 picks up sounds coming from the direction in which the camera is pointing and effectively attenuates noise coming from the sides and rear. The switchable “Low Cut” filter additionally minimizes wind noise.

No phantom power required

Because some video cameras/camcorders do not provide phantom power, the MKE 600 can also be battery powered. A battery on/off switch prevents the battery from discharging prematurely; “Low Batt” is displayed.

More flexibility for demanding shoots

No matter if you’re shooting outdoors in the city or indoors with poor acoustics, when you need to switch locations and change camera settings quickly, this shotgun microphone is your ideal companion for demanding shoots.

Easy to set up! works with phantom power so I never have to worry about batteries and it's not too long.
Only thing is I wish it came with a better case and a rycote like mount would of been nice but for the price point I understand. Would definitely recommend!

I have the Rode VideoMic Pro + and I love it but I was told that for interviews this provides a cleaner signal with less floor noise. I haven’t done an A/B test as I started using it right away but I can tell you the audio quality is stellar. I can tell that there is less background noise compared to the Rode. But the Rode does have the amazing feature of the safety channel to prevent clipping, which is absent here. So now I have these two which provide different possibilities. I would definitely use the Rode Pro+ for live outdoor events and use the MKE600 for intimitate up-close interviews. Very happy with the MKE600 in the end!

The MKE 600 is a very good value shotgun microphone that can be connected to either XLR or to camera TRS. I use this as my secondary studio mic and sounds nearly as good as another pro Studio mic that is over 3 times more expensive. This mic has a bit of a deep tone especially when speaking close to it.

I would rate this 5 out of 5 but this mic for some reason has an issue that my old one didn't.
This more recent version oddly includes a blue XLR to 3.5 TRS cable rather than the black. The sound with the included cable can be fine one moment and than completely cut out and work again and have random static...
I just now took a moment, I released that I purchased another XLR to TRS cable on Amazon previously. No issues during the 2 minutes of testing I did before continuing this review.
The cable was not the one sold by Sennheiser but it worked with no pops, cut outs or issues.

Great mic with a likely faulty blue cable included.
How to use a shotgun mic for the best experience.
This can pick up sounds from a very far distance away if facing towards the sound source. This does great at rejecting sounds when facing the mic away from the unwanted sound sources.

Great quality mic with superb clarity and sound. It works really well at various ranges and pics up even the most minute sound if you want it. It is great at isolating background noise and you only hear the sound of your subjects. XLR cable is not included so make sure you have one and make sure you pair this mic with a recorder that can provide phantom power.

Muy robusto, tiene pinta de que puede durar bastantes años. Tiene el plus de poder alimentarlo con una pila (yo uso una recargable).

Además, permite la conexión a mi cámara a través del cable jack que viene en el paquete, por lo que no hace falta tener un adaptador xlr. Lo he usado también con una tarjeta de sonido (mediante cable xlr) y es una delicia escuchar el sonido que produce, muy nítido.

De momento no he encontrado inconveniente alguno. Muy contento con la compra.
