I rekeyed 5 locks in my home and this kit helped me do that on my own. I had never keyed locks before but I found some videos online that showed how to do it and it was pretty easy. I'm super handy but even a novice DIY person could do it. I got this bigger kit because I also plan on getting some padlocks that are compatible and I have a rental suite that occasionally will need to be rekeyed. Yup, it is expensive but you get a LOT of pins and tools to get the job done.

Home user and wanted to repin 6 locks in my new house alike. In my case cost of this kit was the same if not cheaper than getting a locksmith but you will need an original Schlage key with code to pin locks to. I looked at cheaper OEM kits but glad I went for the Schlage as it's the only comprehensive kit I found with all the tools which made repinning simple and fast. Good detailed instructions for pinning different lock types available on the Schlage website.

This product has worked out perfectly. I have 12 Schlage Deadbolt Cylenders, and this kit has all the parts I would ever need for them. I am no longer paying $13 X 6 each time I need a re-key. There is white plastic tool included that is designed to help remove the inner cylender from it's outer housing without having top pins and springs come out. I had expected this to line up a little better, but it does work, you just have to be a little carefull. It comes with a really nice very illustrated Rekeying Quick Start Binder. As per usual my binder was damaged in shipping by Amazon. We have all come to expect shipping damages from Amazon. There is also a DVD. The Rekeying Kit itself is exactly what I needed!

i have always wanted a rekey set, but some of the sets out there do not have all the tools and equipment included in them. This kit does, I am impressed by the quality of the case, the tools and of course the pins that come in the set. I was looking of purchasing a LAB set, but that set only comes with the pins, it does not have all tools. This set might be a bit much of me as I do not anticipate using the parts for schlage's power knob and other schlage specific lock parts, but none the less I have them if needed.

I don't understand the negative comments on this product. All pieces were included and the case is metal and very sturdy. On the day this arrived I switched over 2 locks I'd just bought. It's definitely a good product.

I wish they had put in the foam cover piece a previous buyer mentioned. Mine came with a thick piece of paper that won't last long. I pulled a thin piece of foam I had from another product to lay on top of the bins before closing the lid. Yes...it definitely makes a difference.

I was able to rekey a couple of locks and replace worn parts in another lock in my house with little effort. The only snags were because the locks were made by Andersen or Baldwin, with Schlage keyway, but some extra fiddly things to figure out before getting to the meat of repinning.

They provide security pins, so I added a couple of spools to each door.

Most importantly of all, when you shut this case, the pins are all trapped in their individual wells and can't get mixed up.

You pay dearly for the quality.
