I've had several dashcams and the most common thing I've noticed is that sometimes the camera would reset itself, which I assume was from the temperature being too high. When I touched my dashcams, this seems to be confirmed. I rigged a thermal barrier away from the windshield, thinking that the heat conducted from the windshield would not conduct as much to the dashcam, yet the reset still happened.

Obviously when the camera is resetting itself while driving, you have ZERO dashcam footage.

After reading posts on dashcam forums, it seemed that the memory cards were the culprits. When my dashcam resetted itself, I took out the memory card and it was dangerously hot. After purchasing this Samsung Max Endurance card, my dashcam no longer resets even if the temperature is hot outside. When a 512gb or 1tb version is made, I will be one of the first to purchase. Highly recommended.
