Fast and purpose built.
My Sandisk Ultra A1 cards have finally kicked the bucket after spending 3+ years in two Viofo A119v3 dashcams. Understandably, those cards were not meant to be in constant recording devices and I'm surprised they lasted so long. Given the minimal price difference between Ultra and High Endurance cards, I've committed to the High Endurance path this time around. I purchased both a 256GB and a 128GB card for front and rear dashcams.For the record, my cards were both sold by and shipped by Amazon as I don't want to chance it with fakes. Passing them through the H2TestW software, I saw the stated capacity for both cards received. I also saw about 76MB/s write and 81MB/s read for the 128GB card, and about 76MB/s write and 79MB/s read for the 256GB card. The advertised speeds on the packaging is 100MB/s read and 40MB/s write. As such, we got about 80% of the actual read speed and about double the actual write speed (which is the more important figure for dashcams). This is way more than enough for any dashcam to date whether it is 4k or not.The only thing that's lacking is the 2 year warranty which pales in comparison to the Ultra's 10 year warranty. This makes me question whether it's actually the same chips inside and the short warranty accounts for the expected excessive usage.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. The cards are fast and they are purpose built for things like dashcams. They also don't cost much more than general purpose sd cards. We'll see if they last long and I'll report back if they don't.
