Toss the packing cubes for these compression ones for next level packing!
If you subscribe to one-bag carryon-only travel, then these compression cubes are for you! I travel frequently for work so I avoid checked luggage at all costs. I’ve utilized packing cubes in the past for organization but these compression cubes take it to the next level!For a 5 day business trip to the UK, using 2 of these medium compression cubes I was able to pack: 3 x pairs of pants, 3 x sweaters, 1 x dress, 3 x tops, 2 x gym outfits and enough undergarments to last the week.You can see from the photos and video how all items fit into the cubes and how much extra room I had leftover in my carryon (for size reference, I use the Briggs & Riley Global 21” spinner) for shoes, makeup bag, etc. While the cubes do not unzip the entire way, this is deliberate as it keeps your clothing stack tight and compact as you start to zip up and compress the cube. The trick is to fold your clothes slightly smaller than the length of the cube, stack clothes and then place the packed cube on the floor, kneel on the cube to compress and get the air out as you zip it up.For a 3 day trip, I’ve used ONE of the cubes which fit perfectly in a shoulder tote (for reference, the Longchamp Le Pilage large tote) and fit 2 x dress pants, 1 x suit jacket, 1 skirt, 2 gym outfits.
