Working pomade through hair with comb

1. Scoop Water Based Pomade Out Of Jar

Start by scooping a small amount, about the size of your finger nail, of Suavecito Pomade out of its jar.

2. Emulsify Pomade In Hands

Work the pomade into your hands until it has been spread out evenly.

3. Apply Pomade To Hair

Start by applying evenly across hair. Repeat steps 1-3 and reapply on an as needed basis. Generally, the more that is added the stronger the hold.

4. Style As Desired

Comb pomade through hair with a medium to wide toothed comb until pomade is distributed evenly. Style as desired.

Debated this because of the description saying "creamy consistency" which made me think it was more like a cream. Not the case. Very thick, and similar to the Layrite products. Has a nice masculine smell, that may be a bit on the strong side. I have short semi-messy hair that I use it in and I can smell it throughout the day, if you have longer hair and doing a pompadour, I suspect the smell would be very strong given the amount needed for that hairstyle. Compared to Layrite, this stuff is closer to their regular hold... I have Layrite's strong hold as well and it's much thicker and stronger than this.

Overall, I like the product. I dropped 1-star simply because for a strong/firme hold, it's kinda lacking. It's closer to a medium if anything.

The big things when I bought this product seemed to be the hold and the scent. I had bought Layrite with what looked like a similar texture, clear gel like pommade which I really liked. The tub is a good size and I actually enjoyed the smell. It has a cologne scent rather than a vanilla or creamy? Smell.

The hold on the other hand was a bit disappointing. It works alright but throughout a 12 hour shift at work it definitely doesn't hold up. I usually go for a messy look and after about half a day my hair is flat.

I think it would work well for someone looking for a tussled out of bed idgaf look or what the container advertises a classic slicked look.

Not terrible just not what I was expecting with the advertising.

I’ve got super thick hair that either turns into a frizz ball or Afro dependent on how I’ve washed it. For a mid 30s Caucasian male this isn’t a great look! I’ve tried many products to get my hair stuck down but generally end up using wax and a whole lot of hairspray…but not with this pomade, the hold is exceptional!
I apply this to my hair when wet and then blow dry, the result is some impressive firmness that stays in place all day. I’m normally sensitive to waxes and gels and have to wash them out by early evening otherwise I can get itchy, but I’ve not experience this at all with the SuaVecto pomade.
Really impressed, it smells delicious, yeah it might be a little expensive but a little goes a long way and it seems to last me a couple months.
