It's a decent PA amplifier. I hooked up my CD player and a pair of Tannoy bookshelf speakers and found the stereo sound was barely acceptable. The sound output is fairly loud but the quality still leaves much to be desired. Even with the EQ and bass and treble controls you cannot achieve a really pleasant sound.
