So I am a big time procrastinator and one of the thing which help me waste time in my smartphone. Enter CAT S22 this phone is amazing, with touch screen, keypad, Android Go 11 OS it is an amazing combination. I can keep all my important applications like bank apps, Whatsapp, Car wash app, Trading app with me and ditch all those endless scrolling and YouTube binge watching behind. In just 2-3 days my productivity is through the roof, previously it would take me 5-8 hours to finish something now I can do in 30-60 minutes.Few tricks for people who want to buy this Beauty - You can download an app called TT9 which fixes problem with double press on keyboard. this phone is unlocked and can connect to any wireless network I tested Bell and Fido which is Rogers.

Battery life, good. Navigate-able without touchscreen. Just make sure to download the "TT9 keyboard" app from github cause it makes texting more natural with the multiple presses. The built-in keyboards are shit. Also, another small caveat, if you want to "highlight" pressable on-screen buttons without using the touchscreen, please press the "volume" button on the left side of the directional buttons above the green "pick up call" button, then navigate to the button you want using the directional keyboard buttons.

Also, to access punctuation, press the "1" button twice. To access other things like space, and the @ button, press the "0" button twice.

I like this phone a lot it has Android 11 and a lot more techy stuff, looks like Cat is ahead of their time but but if you want to make a call or text you need a third party app like TextNow and still only on Wifi no cellular I put my Telus SIM card in it and it wouldn’t work too bad! I read the other reviews they all say it’s locked to T-Mobile that’s true if you want you can buy a T-Mobile plan and use any SIM card keep your number and they have a three month trial, that’s about as far as I got. Other than that it’s a SUPER Android unit tough as nails rubberized and very high tech even for android.

We wanted a simple cell phone to be left in the car for emergencies. This fit the bill. My husband isn't a fan of smartphones and doesn't need or want any of those features. He just wants to be able to make a call if he has to. He likes the big tactile buttons and that you just have to flip it open to answer. While it is bulky and heavy, it's perfect for him because he can feel the weight of it in his hand and not have to worry about dropping it. He found it pretty easy to learn to use once I had it set up. I was able to use photos to label the numbers in his phone so he can more easily select who to call (as opposed to squinting at the small text). We store it in the glovebox 24/7 and it's turned off except when needed. So far, it's lasted 4 months and is still working on the initial charge. The heat hasn't seemed to bother it; I'm hoping the cold won't either.

Although when it boots up it says T Mobile, my Lucky Mobile SIM worked perfectly in it. It's clearly unlocked but is somehow stuck with the T Mobile branding on startup which is not an issue at all.

The only downside refers again, to the size of the touchscreen keyboard- it’s tiny ! I was trying for half an hour to write a three word text ! If you have small hands/ fingers , this phone is for you!

I like the look and feel of it, similar to a bar of soap. I like the pared down Android functionality so I can use utility Apps still.
This is my second one though and I'm still having issues. The antenna on these is either incredibly weak or these phones will not work consistently on Virgin Mobile. Receives texts fine, and 90% of my calls come through, the other 10% is the issue. I frequently have friends and family say they've called me and there is zero record of the call having come in, no log, no voicemail, no delayed receipt, it's like the call never happened. Missing a medical phonecall appointment because the call vanished into the ether was the last straw and I've sadly stopped using this phone.

Phone manufacturer, Bullitt Group, is no longer in business. So what happens with support? Although I liked the phone, II have returned my phone.

I did not see anywhere in the specs or description that the S22 only accepts a Nano Sim Card! My LG flip uses a regular Sim, so I required a new sim from my provider, SpeakOut Wireless.
The CAT S22 arrived in one day and looks very solid and well built.

The phone was Locked and required a PIN to access, which of course is not provided. This left me quite frustrated after waiting for the new sim card. A quick Google search brought up many articles and videos on how to unlock, from the Settings menu, which you cannot get to because of the PIN lock. The only way to bypass the Pin is through a "hard reset". Steps to do this are as follows:
-With phone powered off, press the Power key and then the UP volume key, this should get you to the Recovery Menu. **be patient, I don't know if was just me, but this took several attempts to work. Often getting a "NO COMMAND" error! Hold down the Power button until the phone restarts to get rid of this error! I had to go through this several times and finally the Recovery Menu appeared. Again, maybe just me!
-Once in the Recovery Menu, scroll down [using the Volume buttons] to "wipe data/factory reset".
-Use Power button to select, confirm and reset process will begin and then return to Recovery Menu when complete.
-Scroll down to "Power Off" and again select with the Power key.
-When completely powered down, power up and you should be ready to go.

When I go to Settings -> About Phone -> Device Unlock, I see the message "Your device is network locked at this time, which prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. To inquire about your device's unlock eligibility, please continue." And then there's a "continue" button there. When I click that, I'm taken to a screen where I can request a permanent unlock. When I do that, it still returns "Unlock Failed". However, it is working fine on SpeakOut Wireless, which uses the Rogers network, here in Western Canada. Go Figure!!!

I hope this helps others that may experience this frustration when first attempting to use this phone. Time will tell if it is as reliable as my old LG flip phone.

However, it did work with my Mint Mobile sim card regardless. Disappointingly, the phone only operated for about 10 minutes after setup and then locked itself up and shut off. When I tried to turn it back on, it got stuck in a loop that never went past the startup screen. Removed the battery and reinstalled to try again, and again got stuck in the startup loop. Returned the phone.

Let me tell you how to Unlock Mobile Network on CAT S22 FLIP phone (T-Mobile network locked phone) to use it with any GSM network operators/providers.
First of all, when you receive your phone, DO NOT INSTALL a SIM card in it. Skip the Mobile Network Setup and continue updating and customizing your phone. When you're done, go to Settings -> About Phone -> Device Unlock -> Continue and select PERMANENT UNLOCK!!!!!. The phone will reboot, then you turn off the phone and install any GSM nano SIM card. Also, if you need it, check or configure the APN (Access Point Name) of the GSM network operator you are using with this phone.
Personally, I bought 2 units and unlocked them. I would recommend this phone to people who are not on their phone 24/7.
