I am an Apple loyalist, and have had a Apple TV and HomePods setups in my living room.
Recently bought a projector to install in my bedroom, and didn’t wanna spend another $200 on an Apple TV, alongside another $200 for 2 HomePods. So, I ended up spending some money on a Chromecast with Google TV and two Nest Audio speakers. While the speakers worked great, I just couldn’t find the Airplay experience with Chromecast. Laggy, slow and just didn’t work on many streaming apps and websites.
I was just about to buy Apple TV and HomePods for my room, when I learned about the Roku streambar. Airplay 2 on a <$200 soundbar? I was sold.
Ordered it. Got it within a couple of days, and I am in love. The soundbar is amazing. Sounds great, works great and the UI is very straightforward. And supports Airplay 2 just as an Apple TV does. It’s the same as an Apple TV setup but with spending a lot less than half the money of that.
