Must Install Doorbell with a Transformer even though wired to old traditional electrical wires!
So I have had to set up another type of Ring Doorbell that Ring has now sent . Another update I was sent the transformerer. I had to plug it in to an outside outlet, run the cord under door and into framework up to doorbell and attached to back screws. Looks ridiculous and no safety at all..One would just unplug it.****UPDATE****well still no doorbell….I have been trying to set up for a couple of months now..turns out there is not enough power as need extra piece called a transformer.I am so frustrated as people have to bang on the door or my dog starts barking!! Not connecting to wifi and must have tried 101 times now…doorbell wont work.I called Ring and the representative was lovely, professional and very patient as I stood outside in my pajamas.. I had to unscrew device and read off the MAC serial number to rep. Then she said I didnt have the power without that transformer. So off to order that piece..will update later on. I phoned and Rep from Ring directly discussed with me about an adapter?? I have signed up for the subscription and awaiting another piece to add to this for it to run!! Why wasn’t this told to me in the first place?? ####update, last one!..they changed out Doorbell to 2nd generation one. It’s on now! Up and running! Thanks Ring!
